Renovigi Energia Solar will set up a new factory in Complexo do Pecém, Ceará, for photovoltaic panels to generate solar energy

After signing a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Ceará, signed on Friday morning (25/06), the Santa Catarina company Renovigi Energia Solar expects to start operations at its new factory in the state by the end of this year. According to Gustavo Martins, president of Renovigi, the total investment is R$ 150 million, an amount that includes the installation of the assembly line (R$ 12,5 million), in addition to the acquisition of raw materials, working capital, equipment, investments in distribution, among others. Details on the new solar energy generator factory in Ceará

Renovigi promises to invest BRL 12 million in the construction or lease of two industrial warehouses – to house the solar energy panel assembly plant and another for a Product Distribution Center. The properties are being leased by the Company for the Development of the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém (CIPP S/A), which manages the so-called Complexo do Pecém, including the seaport and the SPA.

The investment for setting up its solar energy panel assembly plant and its distribution center is apparently small, but Renovigi Energia Solar estimates that it will mobilize R$ 250 million in working capital and that its annual revenue, which from 2022 it will reach R$ 2 billion. Renovigi will import the panels and all the inputs necessary for its installation, which is why the need for working capital is significant.

Choice of Ceará for the installation of the new factory

Gustavo Martins, president of Renovigi, says that the choice of Ceará was strategic for Renovigi, both because of the incentive programs for renewables in that state and also because of the infrastructure. The factory will be located within the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém, which will facilitate the arrival of raw materials from Asia by ships that will dock at the port. In this first stage of installation, production and distribution of materials, an investment of R$ 150 million is foreseen, says Martins.

The president of Renovigi also says that the option for Ceará was more due to the strategic plan focused on renewable energies and for a logistical issue. Gustavo says that the state of Ceará can receive the materials through an efficient port and the location of Ceará, which is in a central position, favors distribution to customers in the North and Northeast.

Production capacity of the new solar energy panel generator unit

The factory in Ceará estimates the production of around 600 generation systems per month, which represents 7.200 systems per year. According to the company, the commercialization of the systems will be aimed mainly at the Northeastern states, and on a smaller scale to the North. The two regions currently represent 22% of the company's sales and the expectation is that they will account for 30%. the unit in Pecem will be the company's third in the country and the other two factories are located in Louveira (SP) and another in Itajaí (SC).

The new industrial assembly unit targets the potential for business growth in the Northeast, where the company has 535 accredited members, who are the company's partners and integrators in direct sales to customers.
