On this Wednesday, (03/05), Santa Casa da Misericórdia has job openings in Portugal for professionals with various levels of education. This institution, of Catholic origin, is known for its social commitment to caring for the sick, disabled, and abandoned newborns, providing medical and humanitarian assistance for centuries.

What Are the Job Openings at Santa Casa da Misericórdia?

Training Monitor

Requirements set by Santa Casa da Misericórdia: 12th grade or equivalent, as well as technical and practical knowledge of Carpentry equivalent to at least level II.

Mastery of the different techniques, materials, and equipment used in the profession is also required, in addition to the completion of the Clean Carpenter Course.

The position requires the possession of the Certificate of Pedagogical Competencies (CCP) and basic computer skills. Although not an eliminatory factor, experience as a trainer is considered a plus.

Physiotherapist

Requirements set by Santa Casa da Misericórdia: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (2nd cycle of studies, when required for the exercise of the function) in Physiotherapy and hold a professional license issued by the Order of Physiotherapists as a national member.

Additionally, it is necessary to have experience in the assessment and intervention in the pediatric population.

In terms of skills, it is essential for the candidate to demonstrate planning and organization abilities, results orientation, interpersonal relationships, and teamwork, along with initiative and autonomy to carry out activities effectively.

Job location: Lisbon, Portugal.

Social Service Specialist

Requirements set by Santa Casa da Misericórdia: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (2nd cycle of studies, when required for the exercise of the function) in Social Work, as well as relevant professional experience of over 2 years in work with children and/or youth at risk.

As optional requirements, knowledge of the Law for the Promotion and Protection of Children and Youth at Risk (Law No. 147/99 of September 1 and its amendments), training in family training, and experience with families in the realm of Parenting are desirable.

Job location: Lisbon, Portugal.

Pharmacist

Requirements set by Santa Casa da Misericórdia: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (2nd cycle of studies, when required for the exercise of the function) in Pharmaceutical Sciences and hold a professional license issued by the Order of Pharmacists as an active member.

It is also necessary to have basic computer skills. As an optional requirement, experience in hospital pharmacy is an asset.

Orthoptist

Requirements set by Santa Casa da Misericórdia: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (2nd cycle of studies, when required for the exercise of the function) in Orthoptics and hold a professional certificate as a Senior Technician in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Areas issued by the Central Administration of the Health System, IP.

Additionally, a Bachelor’s degree in Orthoptics is required.

Electrotechnical Engineer

Requirements set by Santa Casa da Misericórdia: Pre-Bologna Bachelor’s degree or Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree post-Bologna (when applicable for the exercise of the function) in Electrotechnical Engineering, as this is an eliminatory factor for new applications for the profession.

It is necessary to hold a Professional License issued by the Order of Engineers as an active member, which is also an eliminatory requirement.

Furthermore, the candidate must have knowledge in maintenance, maintenance planning and management, as well as experience in preparing technical reports and analyzing studies and projects within their specialization.

Job location: Alcoitão, Portugal.

Early Childhood Educator

Requirements set by Santa Casa da Misericórdia: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (2nd cycle of studies, when required for the exercise of the function) in Early Childhood Education or Basic Education.

In case of a Bachelor’s degree (1st cycle) in Basic Education, it is mandatory to complete a Master’s degree (2nd cycle) that qualifies for the exercise of the profession.

Additionally, knowledge in different educational contexts and sophisticated pedagogical models is required, along with previous experience in the function of at least 1 year.

Knowledge in child development, hygiene habits, sleep, and healthy eating in early childhood, as well as safety and hygiene at work are also required.
