Main Responsibilities of the Nursing Assistant

Organization of Environments: organizing and equipping examination rooms and offices with materials, instruments, and equipment, checking functionality and adapting the environment according to the procedure and patient profile;
Execution of Technical Procedures: performing technical procedures, from laboratory collections and venous access to the administration of medications (oral, topical, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, and rectal) within aseptic technique;
Record and Communication: ensuring that medical records are updated with accurate information about patients’ health status and procedures performed, facilitating communication between work shifts;
Support for Nursing Teams: collaborating in planning and executing nursing care, assisting the team in pre and post-operative activities and in complementary exams;
Additional Care: assisting in the disinfection and sterilization of equipment, in performing venous access, and in the safe transfer of patients between sectors.
