This is the first gasoline tank produced by the refinery, after Petrobras received authorization from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to operate the petrochemical naphtha pipeline also with gasoline.
The fuel is formulated with products from RNEST itself and other refineries. The so-called gasoline A does not have the addition of ethanol, a product that is added to gasoline by distributors who then commercialize gasoline C.

About the Abreu e Lima Refinery of Petrobras (RNEST)
The Abreu e Lima Refinery completed six years in November and is the most modern in the country. The unit has an installed capacity of 130,000 barrels per day (1st train), which corresponds to 5% of the country’s total oil refining capacity.
Currently, it produces low-sulfur diesel (69% of production), naphtha, fuel oil, coke, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and now also adds gasoline A to its product basket.
In addition to diesel oil, its main product, the production of fuel oil for export has also gained prominence since 2019. With the introduction of the new quality of bunker in the world, Petrobras’s strategy to capture the gains associated with the new market led RNEST to break its production record of the derivative eight times in nine months, between 2019 and 2020.
Also in 2019, RNEST began exporting its coke production, having carried out three operations: in August 2019 to China (31,100 tons), and in May and July 2020 to the United States (31,500 tons in each month). Today marks the beginning of the loading of the ship for a new export to China, with a forecast of 31,500 tons.
