Petrobras Refinery in São José dos Campos (SP) Achieves Unprecedented Marks in Kerosene and Diesel S10 Production and Stands Out for Operational Performance.
The Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap), located in São José dos Campos (SP), achieved historic results in the first half of 2025. Between January and June, the unit set records in the production of diesel S10 and kerosene, also reaching the highest total utilization index (FUT) in the last nine years.
The data reflects the high performance of the refinery and its essential role in the national fuel supply.
Rising Diesel S10 Production: Direct Impact on Transportation
Diesel S10 production reached 1,187,913 m³ (around 1.2 billion liters), surpassing the previous record of 1,065,712 m³ recorded in the same period of 2024.

The kerosene production also reached 1,082,860 m³, also exceeding last year’s result. These volumes reinforce Revap’s strategic importance to the energy sector and the Brazilian economy.
With a volume capable of supplying about 3 million buses, the new production record of diesel S10 demonstrates Revap’s progress in providing less polluting and more efficient fuels.
This type of diesel has lower sulfur content, which helps reduce pollutant emissions, benefiting both the environment and public health.
The exceptional performance of the refinery is the result of a combination of cutting-edge technology and a continuous operational reliability plan.
Revap has distinguished itself by efficiently processing oils from the pre-salt layer.
Kerosene: Superior Performance Reinforces Strategic Role
In addition to diesel, kerosene production also reached an all-time high. The 1.1 billion liters produced includes different types of derivatives, such as Jet-A (used in aviation), medium solvent, and illuminating kerosene. This performance is essential for strategic sectors such as air transportation and industry.
According to Alexandre Coelho Cavalcanti, general manager of Revap, “the record production of Revap in fuels, such as diesel S10 and kerosene, brings concrete benefits to Brazilians: it stimulates the economy, strengthens local production chains, and contributes to the country’s energy security.”
Utilization Factor and Availability Almost Maximum
The total production capacity utilization of the refinery is also impressive: the FUT reached 97.55%, the best result since 2015, when the unit resumed operating at 40,000 m³/day capacity.
The operational availability reached 97.29%, very close to the technical limit of 97.58%, demonstrating the high reliability of the plant’s assets.
These numbers reinforce that Revap continues to operate with excellence and safety, respecting the technical and environmental limits of its processes.
Revap Strengthens Its Position in the Energy Sector
The results obtained by Revap in the first half of 2025 place the refinery at a new level of performance within the national refining park.
The highlights in the production of diesel S10 and kerosene, combined with high efficiency rates, confirm the unit’s relevance to Brazil’s energy security.
With a sustainable, reliable, and integrated operation, Revap continues to contribute to strengthening the economy, industry, and mobility in the country — maintaining its position as a reference in the production of high-quality fuels.
