The Petrobras President Bernardes Refinery, Located in Cubatão, May Undergo Maintenance This Month. Workers May Be Called
The President Bernardes Refinery, operated by Petrobras, located in Cubatão, São Paulo state, may undergo maintenance at the end of this month of March. According to the company, the process will cost around 163 million reais and will require about 3,000 workers, but most of the work contracts have already been completed.
Maintenance Shutdown
Several companies have been hired to carry out this process at the Petrobras refinery. The shutdown has been properly scheduled and will not interfere with fuel distribution. Petrobras stated that so far the companies with the most workers are: Estrutural, G&E, Elos, and C3.
Elos stated in a statement that approximately 600 workers are employed. The company is responsible for the maintenance of CO boilers, electrostatic precipitators, their ducts, and auxiliary equipment, including the supply of scaffolding and parts.

President Bernardes Refinery – Petrobras
The President Bernardes unit has a high conversion capacity, producing dozens of high-market-value derivatives with international standards. Located at the foothills of the Serra do Mar and crossed by the Old São Paulo-Santos Road – Brazil’s first paved highway, the refinery has helped pave the way for the emergence of the pioneering petrochemical hub of Cubatão in São Paulo.
The installed capacity is 178,000 barrels/day (28,300 m³/day). The Petrobras refinery’s main products include: gasoline A, Podium gasoline, competition gasolines, petroleum coke, aviation gasoline, diesel oil, cooking gas, petrochemical naphtha, natural gas, ship fuel (bunker), hydrogen, deodorized butane, benzene, xylene, toluene, hexane, sulfur, aromatic residue, etc.
The production of the Petrobras refinery serves the following markets: most of the products are intended for the São Paulo capital. There is also a portion for Baixada Santista and the North, Northeast, and South regions.
