With a 1.3 Turbo Engine, Premium Finish, and Google System, the New Renault Boreal Arrives in 2025 to Be the Most Sophisticated SUV Ever Made by the Brand in the Country and Compete with Jeep Compass and Toyota Corolla Cross.

The New Renault Boreal has finally been revealed and represents a new and ambitious chapter for the French brand in Brazil. Positioned above the Duster and Kardian, the new mid-size SUV from Renault was developed and will be produced in the country, inaugurating a level of sophistication, design, and technology never before seen in a national car from the automaker.

According to the first prototype evaluations, the Boreal arrives to compete in the hottest segment of the market. It targets heavyweight competitors such as the Jeep Compass, Toyota Corolla Cross, and even hybrid models like the GWM Haval H6 and BYD Song Pro.

What is the New Renault Boreal? The Mid-Size SUV That Targets the Compass and Corolla Cross

The New Renault Boreal is the much-anticipated C-SUV (medium utility) from the brand. It is built on the modern RGMP platform, the same as the Kardian, and has been designed to offer robust stature, comfort, and the possibility of electrification in the future.

With a 4.55-meter length and 2.70 m wheelbase, it is larger, wider, and taller than its main rivals. The trunk is also generous, with 522 liters. Production will be domestic, and the official launch is scheduled for December 2025.

The Mechanical Set: 1.3 Turbo Engine and the New Dual-Clutch Transmission

The engine of the New Renault Boreal will be the well-known 1.3 TCe turbo flex four-cylinder, developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz. The power has been adjusted to 163 horsepower, but the excellent torque of 27.5 kgf.m has been maintained.

The big news is the transmission. The CVT is out, and a modern automated dual-clutch transmission with six speeds is in, oil bath, the same that equips the Kardian. The traction will always be front-wheel drive.

Design and Dimensions: Larger Than Rivals

The look of the Boreal is one of its strong points. The front features the new 2.5D logo from Renault and a set of full LED headlights that create a striking light signature.

The sides are marked by 19-inch wheels with diamond finish, a black-painted roof, and hidden rear door handles in the pillar, creating an “SUV coupe” effect.

Tech Interior: The Google System and Refined Finish

Inside, the New Renault Boreal impresses with its finish and technology. The dashboard adopts the OpenR concept, with two integrated 10-inch screens: one for the instrument panel and another for the multimedia center.

The major differentiator is the native Google system. This means the car comes equipped with Google Maps, voice assistant, and the Play Store app store, without the need to mirror a phone. The equipment list also includes premium sound from Harman Kardon, a panoramic sunroof, electronically adjustable seats, and ambient lighting with 48 colors.

Safety and Price: How Does the New Renault Boreal Position Itself in the Market?

The New Renault Boreal will come equipped with safety features. There will be up to 24 driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

The price range has not yet been confirmed, but the expectation is that the SUV will be launched with prices between R$ 200,000 and R$ 230,000, positioning it competitively against the top-of-the-line versions of its main rivals.

With such a complete package, the New Renault Boreal has everything to stand out in the most competitive segment in the country. But what about you, what do you think of the new Renault SUV? Leave your opinion in the comments.
