The Partnership Between Renova Energia and Goldwind Marks a Decisive Advance in Brazilian Wind Power, with New 7.5 MW Wind Turbines Designed to Enhance Sustainable Production in Bahia and Strengthen the Clean Energy Sector in the Country

On October 30, 2025, Renova Energia and Goldwind announced a strategic agreement for the implementation of a 7.5 MW wind turbine in the state of Bahia, more precisely at the wind complex Alto Sertão III, located in Igaporã. The equipment will be manufactured in Camaçari, also in Bahia, and represents a significant advance in the generation capacity of wind energy in the country.

7.5 MW Wind Turbine: Innovation and Power at Renova Energia

This project signals a new era for renewable energy in Brazil, with the potential to drive efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness in the sector. The partnership between Renova Energia and Goldwind brings together national and international expertise, consolidating Brazil as a leader in the energy transition.

The wind turbine developed by Goldwind features a rotor diameter of 183.4 meters and blades over 90 meters long, resulting in a swept area exceeding 26,000 m². This number is nearly double the average of Brazilian wind farms, which ranges from 12,000 to 15,000 m².

The swept area is crucial for capturing wind, directly influencing generation capacity. Initially, Renova Energia will use 6.2 MW, with a forecast to expand to the maximum power of 7.5 MW. Commercial operation is projected to begin in the second quarter of 2026, after the completion of installation and testing.

This wind turbine is one of the most powerful ever announced for operation in Brazil, and its deployment represents a technological and operational leap for the national wind sector.

Bahia: Leadership in National Wind Energy

The choice of Bahia as the project’s headquarters is no coincidence. The state leads the national ranking for wind energy generation, with more than 8.5 GW of installed capacity, according to data from the Brazilian Wind Energy Association (ABEEólica). Furthermore, the region has ideal climatic conditions for wind generation, with constant and high-intensity winds.

Camaçari and Igaporã stand out as industrial and energy hubs, offering infrastructure, skilled labor, and proximity to distribution centers. Local manufacturing of the wind turbine also strengthens the national production chain, creating jobs and stimulating the regional economy.

Renova Energia and Goldwind: Strategic Alliance for Innovation

Renova Energia, a Brazilian company focused on renewable generation, and Goldwind, a Chinese giant specializing in wind technology, are joining forces to bring innovation and scale to the Brazilian market.

The synergy between the two companies is a competitive differential, allowing the project to be executed with high standards of quality and efficiency. Goldwind operates in various countries and brings its experience with large turbines to Brazil, while Renova Energia contributes local market knowledge and asset management.

In addition to energy gains, the project brings environmental and social benefits. Wind energy generation is clean, renewable, and does not emit greenhouse gases. With the new wind turbine, a significant reduction in dependence on fossil fuels is expected, directly contributing to Brazil’s climate goals.

From a socioeconomic perspective, the initiative is expected to generate numerous direct and indirect jobs, both during construction and operation. Training local professionals and strengthening the national industry are pillars of the project, which also includes investments in infrastructure and technical education.

Wind energy is one of the main bets for Brazil’s sustainable future, and projects like this reinforce the sector’s commitment to innovation and regional development.

Challenges and Perspectives for the Wind Energy Sector

Despite the advancements, the sector faces challenges such as environmental licensing, financing, and integration into the national electrical system. The implementation of large wind turbines requires planning, infrastructure, and appropriate public policies.

However, the outlook is positive. According to the Energy Research Company (EPE), Brazil is expected to reach over 40 GW of installed wind capacity by 2030, establishing itself as one of the world leaders in renewable generation.

The partnership between Renova Energia and Goldwind is an example of how to overcome obstacles through innovation and international cooperation, paving the way for new investments and large-scale projects.

Wind Energy in Bahia: Potential and Leadership

Bahia has established itself as the leading Brazilian state in wind energy generation. With constant winds and adequate infrastructure, the state attracts national and international investments. The project by Renova Energia and Goldwind reinforces this leadership, positioning Bahia as a reference in technology and sustainability.

Moreover, the manufacturing of the wind turbine in Camaçari strengthens the local industry and promotes the development of technical skills. The expectation is that the project will serve as a model for other initiatives in the country, stimulating the adoption of high-power and efficient equipment.

Renova Energia Initiative: Future of Renewable Energy in Brazil

The agreement between Renova Energia and Goldwind represents a landmark in the history of wind energy in Brazil. With the implementation of a 7.5 MW wind turbine in Bahia, the country takes a decisive step towards energy transition, combining technology, sustainability, and regional development.

This project is more than a business initiative — it is a symbol of a new era of clean energy in Brazil. The union of forces between national and international companies shows that it is possible to grow with environmental responsibility and a positive social impact.

As Brazil advances in its renewable energy matrix, initiatives like this will be essential to ensure a more sustainable, competitive, and fair future for all.
