Intel's investment is destined for a startup called Figure, which works on the development of humanoid robots
Intel, the technology giant, is always on the lookout for investment and innovation opportunities in the market. This time, the company decided invest US$9 million in a promising startup that stands out for the development of humanoid robots. Figure, as the company is called, believes these machines will be able to take on physically demanding jobs, filling jobs that are currently not covered by the human workforce.
Figure, which received a millionaire investment from Intel, developed Figure 01, a carbon gray bipedal robot with 1,70m in height and 60 kg weight. Its great differential is the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks, such as going up and down stairs, opening doors, help people get up and pick up small objects, among other functions.
