Confirmed for June 28 and 29, the event will bring important names from the sector to discuss energy potential from clean sources

Clean energy production is gaining ground in Brazil, with mini and micro distributed generation standing out. The northeast is among the regions with great potential for this source, and with a focus on encouraging it, the new Regional Forum for Distributed Generation in the northeast (Forum GD – Northeast) is confirmed for next month.

Called the Forum GD Northeast, the 19th edition of the event is confirmed in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, from June 28 to 29. It is worth noting that the latest editions of the Forum GD were considered a success by the FRG Media & Events Group, the event’s organizing company. All exceeded expectations, and the Forum GD Northeast will be no different. According to Tiago Fraga, the event aims to highlight production from the region with the most sunshine in the country, as well as provide even more knowledge and technologies through the promoted lectures, as there is still much more to develop.

“The Forum GD is planned to become the largest forum of all time, with over 50 exhibitors, brands from 10 countries with us, a wealth of experience with more than 100 speakers, we will bring the main trends, main technological innovations that will be produced in the sector now and also in the coming years. Funding agents and some of the main integrators, thus the reproductive chain of distributed generation will be well represented by these experts who are really making things happen in the introduction of distributed generation in the power matrix” asserts Fraga.

The specialist also highlights that the expectation is that the number of connections will grow after the forum takes place in Natal.

“We also hope that the event can strengthen increasing the number of connections and also the installed potential, particularly in the states of the northeast region. That all of them achieve a growth of at least 30% within what has been produced. The expectation is that we can truly have an event that contributes, fosters, and brings new business” explains Fraga.

Commenting on the matter is Guilherme Chrispim, president of the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD), the entity promoting the Forum. For him, the northeastern region has great potential, and the gathering of important players in the sector will leverage the market, which, although still growing, is smaller than other regions of the country such as the Southeast, South, and Midwest.

“We will be there waiting for you for a good opportunity for debates, regarding legislation, regarding law 14.300, about the resolution 1059 issued by ANEEL, but also an opportunity for networking, conversations, to see what’s new, what technology, innovation, possibilities in the distributed generation sector, promoted by ABGD, traditionally organized by the FRG Group for more than six or seven years in this market” points out Chrispim.

According to the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), Brazil currently generates 21 GW of total energy capacity through GD. The northeast region alone is responsible for 4.1 GW of production and has more than 391,000 consumer units with the installed modality. Residences, in turn, are still the ones that most install this type of system.

The Forum’s program will cover important topics for business opportunities, as well as feature exclusive panels to discuss regulatory barriers, legal impediments, innovative technologies, financing, training, and sector growth prospects.
