The Southeast Region, Which Is Composed of the States of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo Appears as One of the Regions of Brazil with the Most Expensive Gasoline of the Month of September
In recent months, fuel prices have been rising abundantly, and this is occurring in all regions of the country. According to the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), the price of gasoline in the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Espírito Santo already started September with an average of R$ 6.310, one of the highest in Brazil. The survey was conducted taking into account all fuel stations registered by the company.

According to the survey, this means that gasoline in the Southeast states experienced a 2.1% increase compared to the average recorded last month. Furthermore, the price of gasoline in the region is the second highest in Brazil, second only to the Midwest Region, for now.
Another concerning aspect is that the price of gasoline in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Espírito Santo is above the national average. The average fuel price across Brazil was R$ 6.237. The company also evaluated that out of the prices charged in the four states of the region, consumers paying the highest price are the residents of RJ.

The average gasoline price in the state is R$ 6.628, an increase of 1.59%, the highest in the region. In addition to gasoline, the average price of ethanol also showed an increase. Gas stations in Rio de Janeiro are charging R$ 5.612. A different situation occurs in São Paulo. The state has the lowest prices for both fuels. While gasoline is priced at R$ 5.794, ethanol is priced at R$ 4.481.
Diesel Also Increased in the Southeast Region
In Minas Gerais, the highest percentage increase compared to last month was recorded. Gasoline in the state is 2.60% more expensive, with an average price of R$ 6.463 and R$ 4.892 for ethanol. Finally, in Espírito Santo, gasoline costs R$ 6.354 while ethanol has the lowest price of the four states, costing R$ 5.446 in the first half of the month.
Like gasoline, the average prices of diesel in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Espírito Santo also experienced increases. For this fuel, Minas Gerais is the state with the highest prices.
According to the survey, diesel is costing R$ 4.862 in MG. As with gasoline and ethanol, the state of São Paulo registers a lower price at R$ 4.666. In Espírito Santo, the price is R$ 4.751, and Rio de Janeiro has R$ 4.726.
The average prices of CNG were also assessed by the survey, and there is good news for consumers in Minas Gerais. The fuel presented an average price of R$ 4.224.
