The major revolution, however, came with the fourth generation. Launched globally in 2023, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 officially arrived in Brazil in March 2025. Practically an entirely new bike, it inherited only the name and adventurous spirit of its predecessor.
The “Sherpa” Heart: The Revolution of the New 40-Horsepower Engine
The main change in the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 lies in its engine. The new powerplant, nicknamed “Sherpa”, is a single-cylinder 452cc with dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) and, for the first time in the lineup, liquid cooling.
The result is an impressive performance boost. The new engine delivers 40 horsepower and 4.08 kgf.m of torque. This represents a gain of 15.5 horsepower compared to the previous generation. The package is completed by a new six-speed transmission, providing more stamina for the bike on the roads.
Onboard Technology: What Comes Standard with the New Himalayan?
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 arrives in Brazil very well equipped. One of the major highlights is the new upside-down front suspension from the renowned Showa brand, with a diameter of 43 mm and 200 mm of travel, which has significantly improved the bike’s handling.
The technological package also includes disc brakes with ABS on both wheels (with the option to deactivate the rear for off-road), full LED lighting, and a modern 4-inch TFT panel. This panel offers connectivity with smartphones and the Tripper Dash navigation system, which mirrors Google Maps directly on the screen.
Performance in Practice: Fuel Consumption and Top Speed
With the new engine, the performance of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has changed levels. The top speed, which was previously a weak point, can now reach 170 km/h, according to testing. This allows for a cruising speed of 120 to 140 km/h on the highway with more comfort and efficiency.
Fuel consumption, in turn, varies with riding style. At a stronger pace, the bike achieves between 18 and 22 km/l. In a calmer riding style, respecting limits, consumption can range between 25 and 28 km/l. The tank now has a capacity of 17 liters.
Versions and Prices in Brazil for the 2026 Model
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is offered in two main versions, which differ by the wheels. Both have spoked wheels, but the entry-level version comes with tube tires, while the top version comes with tubeless-ready wheels.
