National Performance of Oil Production Yields Results and Macaé Has Already Received, Until June, R$ 287 Million in Royalties. The Expectation Is That the Amount Will Surpass Last Year by December.
The city of Macaé, known as the national capital of oil, registered in June the receipt of the largest share of the year in oil royalties.
The amount of R$ 52,974,763.59 set the record for the year, and when combined with what was received in 2019, the total reaches R$ 287,334,578.40, which was paid by the National Treasury Secretariat to the municipality.
The amount by December is expected to exceed the value received last year, which was R$ 467 million, making Macaé the fourth highest in revenue in this category.
The expectation is that, for this year, the total to be transferred in oil royalties will be around R$ 600 million.

In addition to the increased oil production in the Campos basin, another reason for the increase in transfers is the rise in the price of crude oil in the international market.
See below the amounts received since the beginning of the year by Macaé:
Month Transfer
January R$ 48,143,268.16
February R$ 48,249,363.55
March R$ 44,905,020.16
April R$ 41,071,358.19
May R$ 51,990,804.75
June R$ 52,974,763.59
Besides royalties, another source of revenue is the Special Participation (PE). While royalties are a way to compensate society for the exploitation of non-renewable resources, PE is an extraordinary financial compensation that applies only to large production volumes.
Taking into account the total collected, Macaé is expected to exceed R$ 2.5 billion this year of 2019.
