Acron Wins Bid for Petrobras Fertilizer Plant in Três Lagoas. Company Representatives Are Already on Site to Finalize Details
Since Petrobras decided to divest from the Petrobras Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant (UFN-III) in the early days of the crisis that affected the state-owned company in 2014, during which there were many concerns about jobs and the continuation of construction in Três Lagoas due to the project entering Petrobras’s divestment plan. Well, Senator Pedro Chaves (PRB) announces that the Russians will take over the plant and the construction now, after winning the bid. The name of the company is Acron.
Acron states that the construction should resume with an estimated timeline of 60 days and will pay the 178 suppliers who have not received payments from Petrobras since the beginning of the crisis; in fact, many of them declared bankruptcy due to non-payment by the state-owned company, with gross debts amounting to R$ 38 million. With this new scenario, there is a certain enthusiasm among the companies and expectations for the resumption.
The senator emphasizes that 6 groups were in the running for this plant, then it was down to 2, and the Russian consortium ended up taking over the project. Jit’s already certain and sanctioned; they are already in the region coordinating all the logistical details to resolve any embargoes as soon as possible, Chaves states excitedly in the interview. It is still unknown whether labor hiring will occur through contractors or directly with Acron, but just to be sure, if you want to visit the official website of the company and submit your resumes there, it wouldn’t hurt.
