Applications for the Santander Scholarship Program Are Open Until 09/14; The Criteria for Selecting Candidates Are Defined by the Universities
Applications for the Santander Superamos Juntos 2022 program, promoted by Santander Universities, which consists of the educational front of Santander Bank, have been open since last Wednesday (the 15th). According to the bank, the project’s goal is to contribute through scholarships so that individuals facing financial difficulties can remain in the university.
The program expects to provide scholarships to 1,500 students nationwide, thus offering financial assistance so that affected students can stay in a private college.
The total value of the scholarship is R$ 4,000 and assists the student in two ways: each participant will receive a cost assistance of R$ 300, which can be useful for any student needs, such as purchasing books and supplies to be used in college or paying for an internet package, an essential tool for students to have full access to information resources.

Santander Aims to Reduce Dropout in Private Higher Education, Which Has Reached 36.6%, According to Superintendent Nicolás Vergara
The executive superintendent of Santander Universities, Nicolás Vergara, analyzes that, at a time when the dropout rate in private higher education reaches 36.6%, the program aims to become a foundation for students in situations of social vulnerability. According to him, the company understands that, in such a particular period, both students and universities need support.
According to the executive, Santander Universities wants to ensure that students do not have to resort to abandoning college, aiming to combat dropout and engage college students to stay and progress in their careers.
In his speech, Vergara references data from Semesp, an organization that represents private universities in Brazil, which indicated that in 2021 and 2020, there was the highest rate of school dropout in private higher education ever recorded since the beginning of the historical series.
