Hero MotoCorp, Indian Giant in the Motorcycle Market, Surprises with the Launch of an Electric Scooter That Transforms into a Mini Truck. This Practical and Connected Solution Promises to Revolutionize Urban Mobility and Logistics.
Hero MotoCorp, known for its leadership in the motorcycle market in India, has taken a bold and creative step. With the new Surge 32, the company combines the agility of an electric scooter with the cargo capacity of a mini truck. The result? An innovative vehicle that transforms to meet different needs.
The idea is simple and brilliant: the Surge 32 scooter connects to a frame that serves as the cabin and body of a mini truck. Together, the two form something similar to small pickup trucks in tricycle form, popular in many parts of the world. However, Hero has gone beyond the traditional concept, promising a more modern and functional experience.
Versatility in Daily Life with the New Scooter

The Surge 32 is not just a vehicle, but a practical solution for multiple uses. When connected to the mini truck, the electric scooter takes on the role of a complete utility vehicle, ideal for transporting goods or even family outings. When disconnected, the scooter can be used independently, whether for quick deliveries or personal commuting.

The CEO of Hero MotoCorp, Dr. Pawan Munjal, highlighted the versatility of the project:
“Both vehicles have separate plates, but when they come together, they function as one. We need the mini truck for larger deliveries or group outings, but we also need the electric scooter for quick and economical commuting. It’s the best of both worlds.”
Innovation Recognized by the Government
The project is so innovative that a new category of vehicles needed to be created. Hero MotoCorp is working in partnership with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India to regulate the Surge 32. According to Munjal, the government has already given the green light for the registration of these hybrid vehicles.
Still under development, Hero plans to launch the Surge 32 in the global market as early as next year, with an initial production of 10,000 units annually. The promise is to offer an agile, economical, and sustainable solution for urban transport and small deliveries.
With this electric scooter that turns into a mini truck, Hero MotoCorp demonstrates that innovation and practicality can go hand in hand, creating a product that promises to impact not only India but also the global market.
