Upon receiving the keys, the new owners were confronted with an unexpected scene. The interior was filled with mountains of trash, clothes, old newspapers, photographs, boxes, and bags scattered across nearly every room.
Among the items left behind, one of the most curious finds was a denture forgotten amid the accumulated debris.
Despite the initial shock, the couple decided to move forward with the project. Even before any structural interventions, it was necessary to remove tons of trash and debris, a step deemed essential to make the space minimally safe and accessible.
Renovation In Complex Stages Of The Abandoned House
On the exterior, the tall vegetation needed to be trimmed, and a new path was opened to allow proper access to the house.
The renovation is in its early stages and plans significant changes such as complete upgrades to the plumbing and electrical systems, window replacements, and roof repairs.
The layout of the property includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a spacious living room, a lounge, and a second living area facing the back.
The architecture is notable for its arched windows and unusual volume, reminiscent of Mediterranean style.
After the purchase, the owners discovered that the construction was reportedly inspired by Roman villas, information that was missing from the auction documentation, which also underestimated the actual size of the house.
Exposure On Social Media
The cleaning and renovation journey began to be documented by the couple and gained traction on social media. Since the completion of the purchase in early January, the project has attracted significant public interest.
According to the channel The Pink House Diaries 2026 on YouTube, the first video surpassed two million views in just six days, turning the pink house into a case closely followed by curious onlookers and renovation enthusiasts.
