Pursuing A Career In The Oil And Gas Industry Can Be A Good Alternative. If You Are Looking For A Job And Considering A Position In This Field, This Text Is For You. Learn Below About Some Options For This Sector.

Entering this job market is very promising and it’s worth researching to know your profile, expectations, and skills before choosing which career to pursue. The market is quite competitive like any area. Hence the importance of directing your studies towards technical and higher education courses already focused on your field of work. Once you become specialized, the chances of securing a professional position in the oil and gas sector increase significantly, helping you achieve your dreamed professional success.

Offshore Platforms And Production Units

Most of Brazil’s oil production is currently done through offshore structures. Technical professionals work on platforms and ships in this format. Oil and natural gas are produced in these offshore oil regions and transported by ship or pipelines to terminals and refineries on land.

To see the production process on an oil platform, watch the video below:

Oil Tankers

As soon as they are produced, oil and natural gas must be taken to terminals and refineries. This transportation is carried out by ships or even by a network of “invisible roads.” This network is formed by kilometers of pipelines used to connect production areas to storage and refining locations. Chemical Plants And Research

Products such as lipstick, chewing gum, plastic, resins, and candles contain petroleum derivatives. They use, for example, paraffin and naphtha to be produced. Oil refineries produce the raw materials for petrochemicals, whose mission is to transform these received petroleum derivatives into essential products for everyday life.

Nowadays, one of the industrial segments with the most technology development is petrochemicals and the chemical industry. These are driven by new discoveries in the oil and natural gas sector.

Onshore Field

The production of oil and natural gas also occurs on land. Onshore production has remained constant, even with mature and heavily explored areas. However, this maintenance is only possible because companies specialized in oil and natural gas are constantly innovating technology to extend the life of oil regions on land.

Refineries

Refineries are industrial complexes where oil refining and natural gas treatment activities take place. Oil enters the refinery through pipelines and ships to be refined and produce oil derivatives. The main oil derivatives produced in a refinery are: diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, lubricants, naphtha, fuel oil, and aviation kerosene.

Storage

At this stage, petroleum or natural gas derivatives are typically stored or stocked depending on their natures. There are above-ground and underground reservoirs for each type of material.

Transport And Distribution

Distribution is the final stage of the oil and gas segment. It refers to the moment when the fuel, that is, the energy produced in refineries, and transported by pipelines, ships, or tank trucks, reaches the consumer to heat and light their homes. In addition to moving transportation means, providing electricity to cities, allowing modern humans to fully develop all their activities.

As you can see, there are various opportunities for those who want to enter the oil and gas market. Now that you know them, it’s up to you to decide which one fits your profile the best.
