Four New Companies Had Already Expressed Interest in Oil from the Sixth Pre-Salt Auction, But Were Awaiting Approval from ANP

On October 3, Click Petroleum and Gas reported that the Pre-Salt Oil Auction under the production sharing regime was reaching the sixth round and that ANP had already registered 13 companies.
Confirming the strong attractiveness of the oil auctions, the agency has just announced that four more companies are qualified to participate in the bidding.

The companies are Enauta, Equinor and Petrogal (Operator A) and Cepsa (Non-operator), so now the number of companies qualified to participate in the competition rises to 17.

Equinor is already an operator of projects in the pre-salt, such as Carcará in Santos, and Pão de Açúcar in Campos; in addition to post-salt projects, such as the Peregrino field, where it is implementing phase 2 with the addition of another WHP platform, and it also operates exploratory blocks in Espírito Santo.
Enauta operates the Atlanta field in Santos and offshore exploration assets.

Petrogal, a 70%-30% joint venture between Galp and Sinopec, is a partner in fields in the pre-salt but does not operate offshore assets in Brazil.
Cepsa (Compañia Española de Petróleo) is a partner in two blocks in the Ceará basin (CE-M-665 and CE-M-717), operated by Premier Oil. It is also the controlling company of Deten Química in Camaçari, Bahia.

The Auction

Here is the list of the other thirteen companies that were already qualified to participate in the 6th Pre-Salt Oil Auction of the ANP: BP, Chevron, CNODC, CNOOC, ExxonMobil, Petrobras, Petronas, Repsol Sinopec, and Shell as operator companies, and Ecopetrol, Murphy, QPI, and Wintershall as non-operators.

It is estimated that if all blocks are auctioned, the government will raise R$ 7.85 billion in signing bonuses. The auction will offer 5 blocks, under the production sharing regime, in the Campos and Santos basins, and Petrobras has already confirmed its participation.

The auction will take place on November 7, and the blocks in the pre-salt of Aram, Bumerangue, Cruzeiro do Sul, Southwest of Sagittarius, and North of Brava will be offered, distributed across the Santos and Campos basins.
