ANP Will Hold The Sixth Pre-Salt Round In November, And If All Blocks Are Auctioned, The Revenue Will Be R$ 7.85 Billion In Signing Bonuses.
After the announcement made last Monday (30/09) that the oil auction of the onerous assignment will have 14 companies, another announcement from ANP confirms the high interest in the exploratory oil and gas blocks in the pre-salt as well.
This time, ANP informed, this Thursday (03/09), in the Official Gazette, that the 6th bidding round has received applications from 13 companies so far.
It is estimated that if all the blocks are auctioned, the union will raise R$ 7.85 billion in signing bonuses. The auction will offer 5 blocks, under a sharing regime, in the Campos and Santos basins, and Petrobras has already confirmed its participation.

Including Petrobras, the other interested oil companies are: the giants Exxon Mobil and Shell and the Chinese CNOOC and CNODC, the American companies Chevron and Murphy, the Colombian Ecopetrol, the Malaysian Petronas, the Spanish Repsol, the QPI Brasil from Qatar, the British BP, and the German Wintershall.
The auction will take place on November 7, and the blocks in the pre-salt areas of Aram, Bumerangue, Cruzeiro do Sul, Southwest of Sagittarius, and North of Brava will be offered, distributed in the Santos and Campos basins.
Four other companies have expressed interest in participating in the 6th round auction, but they will have to wait for ANP’s approval, which is only expected to occur on the 14th of this month.
With the exception of Murphy and Repsol, all companies registered in this bidding will also participate in the auction of the excess from the onerous assignment, which will bid the areas of Atapu, Búzios, Itapu, and Sépia, and will take place one day earlier. The expected revenue is R$ 106 billion in signing bonuses.
