Solar plant equipment manufactured by Siemens at 36 kV has gas insulated panels. The 138/34,5 kV power transformer, delivered by WEG, has a power of 135 MVA!

The leader in energy in Brazil, Neoenergia, reached another milestone to move forward with the construction of the Luzia solar plant, in Paraíba, and many jobs are being maintained and generated in the region! The project represents the company's debut in centralized photovoltaic generation in the country. The electrical center and the transformer, manufactured by Siemens and WEG (respectively), were delivered.

Equipment will be installed at the Neoenergia Luzia substation, where the voltage of the energy produced will be adequate for the levels of the transmission network.

The electrocenter is an electrical room with load distribution centers, electrical switchboards, air conditioning, lighting, integrated control and automation. It is a pre-assembled structure, according to the needs of the development, not requiring construction. Plus, it's factory-tested, making it easy to install, commission, and operate.

The equipment, manufactured by Siemens, has a voltage of 36 kV and has gas-insulated panels. “We seek solutions that provide more efficiency, speed up construction and reduce costs, demonstrating our commitment to the business plan”, says Neoenergia's manager of Renewable Projects, William Rodney.

The 138/34,5 kV power transformer, with a power of 135 MVA, was also delivered. O equipment was manufactured by WEG, and it is there that the energy generated in the solar modules has the appropriate voltage for the National Interconnected System (SIN).

The plant's connection point to the SIN – that is, from where it is generated to consumers – is the Santa Luzia II substation, also built and operated by Neoenergia. The asset was acquired by the company in lot 6 of the transmission auction held by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), in December 2017.

The substation was delivered in the second half of last year, 16 months ahead of the regulatory body's contractual term, and allowed the start of the commercial operation of another project of the company, the Wind Complex Neoenergia Chafariz, which almost doubled the company's installed capacity in wind power, reaching 1 GW.

The plant will have a capacity of 149,3 MWdc, enough to supply more than 150 homes

At the solar plant, the total power will be 149,3 MWdc, enough to supply more than 150 homes, and all the energy generated in the project will be turned to the Free Contracting Environment (ACL), 100% of which has already been sold on the free market by 2026.”The Neoenergia Luzia solar power plant is a strategic project for the company, with the objective of expanding the portfolio of clean energy generation and aligned with the company's position in the liberalization of the Brazilian energy market”, Highlights William Rodney.

A neoenergy also received in March, the first solar modules imported from the plant. In all, 228.780 parts will be installed. The components are more efficient because they are bifacial, that is, they can capture direct solar radiation and also the radiation reflected by the ground on the lower face of the module. In addition, they will be installed Trackers, which have a system of followers that follow the positioning of the sun throughout the day, further expanding the capture of sunlight.
