PUC-RS Offers 100% Free Scholarships For Online Bachelor’s Degree

PUC-RS Offers 500 Full Scholarships for the Sementes Program in Porto Alegre for Those Who Wish to Pursue Online Higher Education.

The Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS) announced the opening of applications for the Sementes Program, which offers 500 full scholarships aimed at individuals in situations of social vulnerability.

The initiative, aimed at online higher education, seeks to democratize access to higher education in Porto Alegre, contributing to the professional development of those facing financial barriers.

Applications are now open and will run until October 24, 2025. The program is exclusively for Brazilian students without a higher education degree, with a family monthly gross income per capita of up to one and a half minimum wages.

How to Participate in the PUC-RS Sementes Program

To compete for one of the 500 full scholarships, interested individuals must have participated in the National High School Exam (Enem) between 2011 and 2024.

Another requirement is not having any previous ties to undergraduate courses at PUC-RS.

Applications and the submission of supporting documents must be made exclusively through the official Sementes Program website, where the complete notice and the list of required documents are also available.

The process is 100% online, facilitating access for candidates from different regions.

Courses Available with Full Scholarships

The Sementes Program at PUC-RS includes ten online undergraduate courses, all focused on strategic areas with high demand in the job market. They are:

Analysis and Development of Systems;

Financial Management;

Marketing;

Commercial Management;

Human Resources Management;

Database;

International Trade;

Management Processes;

Information Technology Management;

Public Management;

These programs were selected for their broad employability and potential for action in various sectors.

According to the university, the goal is to train professionals prepared for the challenges of the digital economy and modern management.

Deadlines and Start of Classes

The approved candidates for the Sementes Program will be announced on December 8, 2025. The start of classes is scheduled for February 19, 2026, in a fully online format.

This mode of education allows scholars to balance studies with other activities, increasing access for those who cannot attend the Porto Alegre campus in person.

According to PUC-RS, the Sementes Program reinforces the institution’s commitment to inclusive and transformative education.

By offering full scholarships to individuals in vulnerable situations, the university contributes to reducing social inequalities and expanding access to higher education in the country.

The initiative also highlights the role of community universities in strengthening social and economic development, especially at times when access to quality education becomes a challenge for many Brazilian families.
