Gyrodata Incorporated was officially acquired by SLB. From now on, it will provide a high-tech service capable of improving the well drilling process, improving quality and reducing risks.

After a lengthy negotiation process, it was publicly announced that Gyrodata Incorporated now belongs to SLB. The company was acquired to work with its technology in favor of the quality of the wells, optimizing the procedures that are already performed normally, and reducing the risks that can happen during drilling. The goal is to make more assertive decisions and improve the success rate as a whole.

Gyrodata Incorporated specializes in wellbore gyroscope positioning and survey technology

A reference in the global energy sector, Gyrodata Incorporated has strong research development, using technology to make precise decisions that will bring better results.

In this sense, one of the main highlights of the company is the positioning of well gyroscopes. From this, it is possible to improve drilling accuracy and avoid waste for the client company, including time and money.

Gyrodata Incorporated's technology will be incorporated into SLB's Well Constructions, guaranteeing the safest and most innovative technology in the drilling area, especially with regard to well surveying and location technologies.

The customer's investment is invested in gains with assertive drilling in several places, especially those that may go unnoticed in the eyes of other simpler equipment, without the due precision for which Gyrodata is known in the market.

Greater drilling efficiency is the main objective expected with the acquisition based on small changes in the company's procedures

As a leader in the research segment, Gyrodata Incorporated specializes in locating wells, including reservoirs located in complex spaces that are difficult to see or access.

Due to this, it becomes unfeasible for many drilling companies, while SLB's Well Constructions, which now has a high-tech system, manages to find such wells in advance and drill them too, obtaining a great advantage over other competitors.

In addition, it is also expected to reduce the data acquisition time.

The process is essential for the company to understand if it is worth drilling in a certain location and, if so, what strategies to use.

With the processes developed by Gyrodata, which has been carrying out the procedure for years, data acquisition will be done more quickly, sending the team in the field precise coordinates for the moment of action.

This also directly influences the improvement of decision-making. With the speed in data acquisition, it takes less time to realize when drilling a well will not bring the expected return and, thus, it is possible to move on to other opportunities that will be better for the customer.

Speaking about the acquisition, Jesus Lamas, President of Well Constructions at SLB, expressed great excitement about the future of the partnership: “I am excited about this historic moment that will bring innovative solutions to the SLB Well Construction division and our industry. The technology-driven acquisition of Gyrodata is in line with SLB's strategy to elevate operational performance and improve efficiency for our customers."

For SLB's Well Constructions, Gyrodata Incorporated's technology brings a great positive difference in relation to competitors. Quality in well drilling and risk reduction will make the company even more valued in the segment.
