With Iconic Design, Google’s Artificial Intelligence, and a Price of Almost 10 Thousand Reais, the New Foldable Smartphone from Motorola, Razr 60 Ultra, Aims to Democratize Technology in Brazil.

The foldable smartphone market in Brazil has just been shaken by a launch that combines nostalgia, cutting-edge technology, and an extremely aggressive pricing strategy. The new foldable smartphone from Motorola, the Razr 60 Ultra (2025 version), has arrived in the country with a clear mission to challenge Samsung’s dominance and make technology more accessible to premium consumers.

While the foldable market grows at a rapid pace, the main barrier for most consumers has always been the high price. However, Motorola seems to have found the formula to break through this barrier. With promotions that have cut its price to almost half of the launch value, the new foldable smartphone from Motorola is not just a bet on design, but a calculated move to capture a significant share of one of the most promising segments of technology.

Design and Screens: The Evolution of an Icon

Inspired by the legendary Razr V3 from 2004, the new foldable from Motorola bets on a design that evokes nostalgia but with a completely modern execution. When closed, it is ultra-compact and features a generous 4-inch external screen, allowing users to interact with notifications, take selfies, and use apps without needing to open the device.

Once opened, it reveals an impressive 6.9-inch flexible pOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, ensuring fluid and vibrant images. Motorola also focused on durability, with a redesigned hinge tested to withstand 600,000 folds and IPX8 certification for water resistance.

Top-Tier Performance with Google’s AI

Inside, the foldable smartphone from Motorola is a true powerhouse. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, one of the most advanced on the market, and options of up to 24 GB of RAM (combining physical and virtual memory), ensuring flawless performance in any task or game.

The major differentiator, however, is the Moto AI, a suite of artificial intelligence features developed in partnership with Google and powered by Gemini. The multimodal AI is capable of processing text, voice, and images simultaneously to create personalized themes, optimize photos, and function as a much smarter personal assistant.

The Pricing Strategy That Shook the Competition

The most disruptive aspect of the new foldable smartphone from Motorola is undoubtedly its price. Officially launched in Brazil in May 2025 for R$ 8,999.

In a market where 60% of consumers prioritize cost-benefit, according to consultancy IDC, Motorola’s bet on a more accessible price may be the deciding factor in capturing the Brazilian audience.

The Foldable Market in Brazil

Interest in foldable phones is on the rise in Brazil. IDC projections for 2025 indicate a 35% increase in sales, reaching 1.6 million units. So far, Samsung dominates the sector with a market share of about 70%.

With the new Razr, Motorola, which holds about 15% of the market, has the chance to not only increase its share but to accelerate the popularization of the technology in the country, proving that a foldable smartphone from Motorola can indeed be a viable option for a broader audience.

And you, what do you think of the new foldable smartphone from Motorola? Do you believe that the lower price is enough to allow it to surpass the Galaxy Z Flip? Leave your opinion in the comments!
