Bradesco Launches Solar Power Plant in Partnership with Enel X

Bradesco, in collaboration with Enel X, recently inaugurated a solar power plant in Quixeré, Ceará. This plant is the first of nine plants contracted between the bank and Enel X, aimed at providing clean and renewable energy to over 50 branches in the region.

The agreement, signed in 2021, covers a period of 10 years and includes the construction of eight more plants in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Goiás.

More Solar Plants Planned to Power the Bank’s Branches

In addition to the nine plants planned with Enel X, Bradesco already has four other plants in Minas Gerais. Three of them have been in operation since 2020, in partnership with Solatio, and a fourth, in collaboration with América Energia, is expected to start operations later this year.

In total, the 13 plants will have a combined capacity of 14 MW and will be equipped with over 30,000 solar panels. The expectation is that these plants will generate clean energy for nearly 500 Bradesco branches, resulting in a savings of 12%.

Bradesco’s Commitment to Sustainability and Renewable Energy

Bradesco’s goal is to have all 13 solar power plants fully operational by the end of 2023. Adelmo Romero, Director of Assets at Bradesco, emphasizes the bank’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.

He states: “In 2020, we became the first financial institution to have 100% of our operations powered by electricity from renewable sources. The inauguration of the new plants reaffirms our commitment to making Bradesco an increasingly sustainable company.”

In summary, the inauguration of the solar power plant in Ceará marks an important step in Bradesco’s commitment to becoming a more sustainable financial institution.

Through partnerships with Enel X and other companies, the bank aims to expand its use of solar energy across the country, with the goal of powering nearly 500 branches and saving on energy costs. With the support of renewable energy, Bradesco is demonstrating its commitment to building a cleaner and more sustainable future for its clients and for the environment.
