Subsea 7, an Offshore Services Company, Is Calling Experienced Engineers from All Sectors to Apply for the Company’s Engineering Conversion Program and Potentially Land a Job in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry.
Experienced engineers from the aerospace, automotive, and military ground construction sectors are urged by Subsea 7 to transfer their skills to the oil and gas sector. According to the company, since 2005, the company’s Engineering Conversion Program has been acquiring new talent and rebuilding technological bridges in the industry, as well as SOTREQ Brazil, which also has a great program for engineering students today.
The latest engineering conversion program starts in late 2019. In a statement released on Tuesday, Subsea 7 promised that the program would offer a combination of classroom training and external activities, such as site visits, Subsea 7 vessels, and offshore survival training.

Which Engineers Will Be Able to Participate in the Program?
The company is seeking candidates from a wide variety of sectors and backgrounds with proven engineering experience who wish to make the shift to a career in subsea engineering. Examples of industries include, but are not limited to: Civil, Electrical, Armed Forces, Automotive, Oil and Gas among many others.
Qualified engineers are invited to apply on the Subsea 7 website by September 20, 2019.
“More than 70 engineers have gone through the program to date and, with a high retention rate, the program has proven to be a very effective way to bring in new and diverse engineering knowledge to Subsea 7,” says Subsea 7.
Tom McNamee, Manager of Resources and Engineering Development for the Business Unit at Subsea 7, stated that the program is fully prepared to get underway.
He said: “We are looking for candidates who can bring new ideas, ingenuity, and innovation to our operations. What this program offers is a very effective, professional, and supportive way to quickly fill any knowledge gaps, ensuring that each candidate’s transition is as smooth as possible.
