Offshore services company Subsea 7 is calling for experienced engineers from all industries to apply for the company's Engineering Conversion Program and potentially land a job in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Experienced engineers from the aerospace, automotive and military land construction sectors are called upon by Subsea 7 to transfer their skills to the oil and gas sector. According to the company, since 2005, the company's Engineering Conversion Program has been acquiring new talents and rebuilding technological bridges in the industry, as well as SOTREQ Brasil, which also has a great program for engineering students today.

The latest engineering conversion program starts in late 2019. In a statement released on Tuesday, Subsea 7 promised that the program would offer a combination of classroom training and offsite activities such as site visits, Subsea 7 vessels and offshore survival training.

Which engineers will be able to participate in the program?

The company is seeking candidates from a wide variety of industries and backgrounds with proven engineering experience who are looking to make the move to a career in subsea engineering. Examples of industries include, but are not limited to: Civil Engineering, Electrical, Military, Automotive, Oil and Gas among many others.

Qualified engineers are invited to apply on the Subsea 7 website by September 20, 2019.

“More than 70 engineers have gone through the program to date and, with a high retention rate, the program has proven to be a very effective method of bringing new and diverse engineering knowledge to Subsea 7,” says Subsea 7.

Tom McNamee, Resources and Engineering Development Manager for the Business Unit with Subsea 7, said the program is fully prepared to go into action.

He said: “We are looking for candidates who can bring new ideas, ingenuity and innovation to our operations. What this program offers is a very effective, professional and supportive way to quickly fill in any knowledge gaps to ensure each candidate's transition is as seamless as possible. The support and encouragement the program provides continues throughout your career. ”
