With Efficient Turbo Engine, Spacious Trunk, and Refined Finishing, the VW Taos Used Stands Out in the Compact SUV Market, Offering Comfort and Performance Starting at R$ 127 Thousand.

The SUV segment is more competitive than ever, and the Volkswagen Taos has been gaining more space among used models. Launched in Brazil in 2021 to compete directly with the Jeep Compass and the Toyota Corolla Cross, Volkswagen’s compact SUV combines robust design, efficient turbo engine, and a spacious interior. With prices starting at R$ 127 thousand, the VW Taos has been standing out in the Volkswagen SUV market as an interesting option for those seeking a comfortable and well-equipped car.

VW Taos: A Compact SUV from Volkswagen with Global DNA and Cutting-Edge Technology

The Volkswagen Taos was developed based on the Tharu, an SUV sold in China, and its production takes place in Argentina, using the MQB modular platform. This structure is the same as that applied in various models within the group, such as the Tiguan, another Volkswagen SUV, in addition to other renowned vehicles from the brand.

The dimensions of the VW Taos impress for a compact SUV. It measures 4.46 meters in length, 1.84 m in width, 1.62 m in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.68 meters, providing excellent interior space for passengers and luggage. Its trunk has a capacity of 498 liters, making it one of the highlights of the segment.

Like the Jeep Compass, the Volkswagen Taos features independent suspension on all four wheels (McPherson at the front and multilink at the rear), as well as disc brakes on all wheels, ensuring greater stability and safety during driving.

Engine: The Turbo Engine of the VW Taos Used Ensures Balance Between Performance and Efficiency

Regardless of the version, the Volkswagen SUV comes equipped with the 250 TSI 1.4 turbo flex engine, a four-cylinder engine with direct injection that delivers 150 hp of power and 25.5 kgfm of torque. The transmission is always a six-speed Tiptronic automatic, with the option for sequential shifts.

With this mechanical set, the performance of the used VW Taos is satisfactory for the category. According to Volkswagen, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 194 km/h. Although not the fastest in the segment, its turbo engine provides a good balance between power and fuel economy.

Fuel Consumption of the Used VW Taos: Competitive Figures for a Compact SUV

The Volkswagen SUV also stands out in terms of consumption, especially when compared to some segment rivals. According to data from Inmetro, the consumption figures are as follows:

  • With Ethanol: 7.6 km/l in the city and 9.1 km/l on the highway.
  • With Gasoline: 10.9 km/l in the city and 13 km/l on the highway.

These figures make the Volkswagen Taos an interesting option among used cars, offering a good compromise between performance and economy.
