New factory will have investments of R$65 million and will be installed in Aracruz
Suzano is taking another step to expand its presence in the national market with an investment of R$65 million in a new factory of fertilizers in Aracruz, in Espírito Santo.
The project will be built in partnership with Adufértil, a company specialized in the fertilizer sector based in Campinas (SP).
The future unit is scheduled to begin operations in 2026. As announced by the company, in addition to boosting fertilizer production in the region, the partnership aims to open new logistical opportunities to meet demands in Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais and Bahia.
Furthermore, the companies expect that the new factory will generate 90 vacancies of direct jobs and another 300 indirect ones, strengthening the local job market.
Suzano bets on sustainable growth with new fertilizer factory
After the installation of the new plant, Adufértil will start using the Portocel terminal, shared by Suzano and Cenibra, for importing and handling fertilizers in Brazil.
Portocel will be the central point for the movement of 120 thousand to 180 thousand tons/year of fertilizers, with potential for expansion in the coming years.
This operation will expand the port area, expanding storage and movement of cargo. In this way, the company will be able to guarantee even more jobs in the region.
Alexandre Billot Mori, executive manager of Operations at Portocel, highlights that the initiative reinforces the terminal's position as a central point in Espírito Santo's logistics scenario, contributing to local development.
The expectation is that the Aracruz region will become a relevant logistics hub in Brazil in the coming years.
Furthermore, Suzano sees the new factory as an important operation towards sustainable growth.
The company, which plants 1,2 million trees daily in various operations in Brazil, wants to reduce the fertilizer supply radius through this project.
Viviane Danemberg Gomes Lichtenstein, executive manager of Suzano's Supplies, concluded by stating that in addition to strengthening the local economy, the project will contribute to cleaner environmental practices, reducing emissions.
