Free preparation for post-graduation brings live classes, mentoring, and focus on the development of research projects for master’s and doctorate, with limited spots and selection process open until April 2026.
The Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) has opened registrations for a free online course aimed at preparing candidates interested in entering master’s and doctorate programs.
In total, there are 200 spots available for the 2026 edition, with a start date scheduled for May 4 and an end date on August 31, totaling 179 hours of training focused on the development of research projects and understanding the selection processes for post-graduation.
The initiative, known as Pré-Pós UFPR, aims to provide academic support to graduates and students in the final phase of their undergraduate studies who wish to compete for spots in stricto sensu courses.

Free online course from UFPR with mentoring and live classes
Over the course of nearly four months, participants will go through a structured sequence of stages that involve everything from orientation to the completion of the research project.
The proposal goes beyond expository classes and relies on a progressive model, where each stage directly contributes to the development of the academic work.
Among the planned content are scientific reading and writing, methodology fundamentals, construction of the preliminary project, organization of the body of text, guided revisions, and presentation in seminar format.
The schedule also includes moments for individual feedback, allowing for continuous adjustments based on the guidance received.
The training also includes weekly meetings with tutors, which expands the space for clarifying doubts and improving the project.
Additionally, participants will have access to specific activities focused on academic and creative writing, skills considered essential in post-graduation selection processes.
Course requirements and mandatory activities
The course dynamics require constant involvement from participants, as progress is directly linked to the completion of activities throughout the period.
At least 20 written activities are expected, which must be submitted within the deadlines established on the platform.
To obtain the completion certificate, it will be necessary to meet the minimum participation and performance criteria.
The certification corresponds to the total course workload, but there is no offer of scholarships or financial aid during the training.
- Total workload: 179 hours
- Period: May to August 2026
- Mode: online, with synchronous classes
- Mandatory activities: 20 written productions
- Certification: upon meeting the requirements
Who can participate in the UFPR course
Individuals who have already completed their undergraduate degree in programs recognized by the Ministry of Education, as well as students in their final year of higher education, may apply.
As the activities are entirely remote, it is necessary to have access to a computer with internet and basic knowledge of digital tools.
The course also establishes a priority focus on historically underrepresented groups in post-graduation.
Among the groups included are women, Black individuals, Indigenous people, quilombolas, transgender individuals, members of the LGBTQIAPN+ community, people with disabilities, migrants, refugees, as well as candidates in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability.
There is also a specific reserve of 10 spots for the internal community of UFPR.
The distribution of spots takes into account, among other factors, the availability of tutors in the candidates’ areas of interest, which can directly influence the final selection.
History of Pré-Pós UFPR and results
Created from a public notice launched in 2012, Pré-Pós UFPR had its first class in 2013, initially in a face-to-face format.
Over the years, the project underwent adaptations and expanded its reach, especially after migrating to the remote model.
Until 2024, the initiative was linked to the Afro-Brazilian Studies Center of the university and had already completed 12 editions.
Since 2020, with the consolidation of the online format, the course has recorded over 1,700 enrollments and about 900 graduates.
Another relevant piece of data is the number of participants approved in post-graduation programs.
According to information from the project itself, approximately 250 alumni have successfully entered master’s and doctorate programs in various institutions across the country.
This history reinforces the course’s proposal as a practical preparation tool, especially for stages considered decisive in selection processes, such as the development of the research project, methodological clarity, and oral presentation.
Study routine and project development
During the course period, participants will need to balance live classes, text production, and guided revisions.
Synchronous activities usually occur weekly, focusing on the gradual construction of the research project.
At each stage, participants receive specific guidance to improve aspects such as topic delimitation, objective definition, methodology selection, and organization of scientific writing.
The model seeks to avoid the accumulation of structural errors and allows for continuous adjustments before the final version.
Additionally, conducting seminars is part of the pedagogical proposal, offering participants the opportunity to present their projects and receive feedback, simulating common situations in post-graduation selections.
How to register for the free UFPR course
Registrations for Pré-Pós UFPR 2026 are open until April 2, 2026 and must be made through an electronic form provided by the university.
Before registering, it is recommended to read the entire public notice, where the selection criteria, participation rules, and course requirements are described.
The process is free and does not require payment of a fee.
At the time of registration, the candidate must provide academic information and confirm that they meet the minimum requirements to participate in the online activities.
The selection considers both the candidate’s profile and the suitability for the areas covered by the program, as well as the availability of guidance.
Therefore, correctly filling out the information can directly influence the analysis of the application.
