The degree and technical courses that offered internships with the best compensation in 2024 were revealed last Monday (18) in a survey by Nube – Interns and Apprentices.
The research, which analyzed more than 130,000 internship contracts signed between January and December of last year, shows which fields of study concentrate the highest average scholarship.
The data indicate that students from the South and Southeast regions are among those receiving the highest amounts, reinforcing the importance of course choice and location for those seeking better opportunities.

According to the ranking, the degree in Actuarial Science ranks first, with an average scholarship of R$ 2,027.97. Following closely are Statistics (R$ 1,957.96) and Science and Technology (R$ 1,885.04).
Traditional areas such as Economics and Engineering also rank among the most advantageous for those seeking well-paid internships.

Is Internship Mandatory? Understand the Rules
Internships can be mandatory or not, depending on the course guidelines. Careers such as Medicine, Law, Psychology, Pedagogy, and Engineering require mandatory internships.
In these cases, granting a scholarship is not mandatory.
On the other hand, for non-mandatory internships, Law No. 11,788/2008 establishes that the student must receive some form of compensation, whether through a scholarship or additional benefits.
However, there is no minimum amount set by law, which causes compensation to vary significantly among courses and regions.
Regions with the Highest Internship Scholarships
The survey also revealed significant differences among states.
The South leads with an average of R$ 1,348.93, followed by the Southeast (R$ 1,299.81).
The Northeast has the lowest amounts, with an average of R$ 1,177.74.
