Offered Spots and Distribution by Affirmative Action
The announcement establishes the offer of 60 spots for the 2026 academic year. Of this total, 45 spots are designated for general competition. Another 15 spots are reserved for affirmative actions.
The distribution encompasses 12 spots for self-declared black, brown, and indigenous candidates, as well as one spot for quilombolas, one for self-declared transgender or transvestite individuals, and one for individuals with disabilities.
The text also provides that, in the absence of sufficient registrants in the reserved categories, remaining spots may be redistributed to the general competition.
This redistribution respects the final ranking order of the candidates.
Who Can Apply for the Graduate Program at IFMG Sabará
The selection is exclusively aimed at professionals with a degree in Language Studies, whether bachelor’s or licentiate.
The announcement explicitly states that candidates graduated in other areas will not be admitted.
Moreover, only those who have completed their degree by the date of enrollment can compete.
This requirement is valid even for candidates who participate in all stages of the selection process.
If the completion of the degree is not proven at the time of enrollment, the candidate loses the right to the spot.
How the Selection Process Works: Curriculum Analysis and Interview
The selection process consists of two stages, both of a classificatory nature.
The first stage is the document assessment, with a scoring range of zero to one hundred points.
This phase considers the curriculum analysis, supporting documentation, and the rubric filled out by the candidate.
The committee evaluates only the documents submitted within the deadline established in the announcement.
In the second stage, an online interview takes place, conducted via the Google Meet platform.
The interview also receives a score of zero to one hundred points.
The announcement limits the invitation for this phase to a maximum of 96 candidates.
Missing the interview, on the scheduled date and time, results in automatic disqualification.
The final ranking is defined by the sum of the scores obtained in the document assessment and the interview.
In the event of a tie, the announcement establishes specific tie-breaking criteria, described in the official document.
Official Schedule: Registrations, Results, and Enrollment
The schedule for the selection process gathers the main dates of the selection.
Registrations are expected to occur between December 15 and January 11, exclusively online.
The disclosure of approved registrations appears in the schedule for January 12.
