Free Training Program Brings Technical Structure, Employment Prospects, and Promotes Female Participation in New Classes Opened in Different Cities, with Practical and Theoretical Classes for Future Electricians.
Neoenergia, in partnership with Senai and the Foundation for Technology Support (FAT), is accepting applications for the Electrician School, a free training program offering intensive courses of up to 800 hours in November and early December, with classes in cities in Bahia and the Federal District.
The initiative aims to qualify new professionals for the electrical sector, increase income generation, and encourage more women to enter a career that is still predominantly male.
Electrician School and Inclusion in the Electric Sector
Founded in 2013, the Neoenergia Electrician School was created to train specialized labor for energy distribution while promoting employment and income in the regions served by the group’s distributors.
-
Senai will pay up to R$ 700 per month for those who take free technical courses: there are 12,000 open positions across Brazil and training with access to the technology market.
-
Take one of the free courses from SENAI! There are over 100 options for training completely online and with a guaranteed certificate in Logistics, Mechanics, Business, Energy, Safety, and much more; see how to enroll and boost your resume with SENAI EAD.
-
Petrobras and SENAI join forces and launch free technology courses that pay up to R$ 706.
-
Federal Institute calls for EAD and free course with 200 spots in a 400-hour specialization.
Over the years, the program has established itself as an entry point for those who want to enter the electrical sector, with regular classes in different states across the country.
From the beginning, the initiative incorporated diversity by reserving spots and creating specific classes for women, in an occupation historically held by men.
This movement ended up projecting the school internationally, and the program was recognized as a global example of one of the Women’s Empowerment Principles by WeEmpower, an initiative of UN Women in partnership with the International Labour Organization and the European Union.
With over six thousand electricians trained since 2013, among men and women, the Electrician School has become a reference in free qualification in the sector, combining technical training, a focus on safety, and real job opportunities in Neoenergia companies and electric service providers.
Where There Are Vacancies and Registration Deadlines
In the current cycle, applications are open for the Free Electrician Training Course in eight municipalities.
In Sobradinho, in the Federal District, the application period runs from October 20 to November 30, in a class linked to Neoenergia Brasília.
In Bahia, opportunities are concentrated in different regions served by Neoenergia Coelba.
In Feira de Santana and Itaberaba, applications will be open until November 28.
In the municipalities of Ipiaú, Jacobina, and Luís Eduardo Magalhães, the deadline is from November 14 to December 7.
In Porto Seguro and Remanso, applications run from November 18 to December 7.
Each distributor organizes its classes according to local demand and available infrastructure in partnership with Senai or FAT.
The total workload varies according to the announcement of each selection, ranging from approximately 540 to 800 hours of training, always in an intensive model focused on distribution networks and electrical installations.
| City | Application Period |
|---|---|
| Sobradinho (DF) | 10/20 to 11/30 |
| Feira de Santana (BA) | until 11/28 |
| Itaberaba (BA) | until 11/28 |
| Ipiaú (BA) | 11/14 to 12/7 |
| Jacobina (BA) | 11/14 to 12/7 |
| Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA) | 11/14 to 12/7 |
| Porto Seguro (BA) | 11/18 to 12/7 |
| Remanso (BA) | 11/18 to 12/7 |
Requirements to Participate
The selection process adopts unified criteria in Neoenergia’s concession areas.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, have completed high school, and hold a valid National Driver’s License, requirements that ensure minimum aptitude for practical field activities and tasks expected of a distribution electrician.
The classes are completely free.
In the Northeast and the Federal District, the training is conducted by the National Service for Industrial Learning (Senai), an institution recognized for offering technical courses throughout the country.
In São Paulo, the responsible partner for conducting the classes is the Foundation for Technology Support (FAT), which works together with technical schools to facilitate laboratories and certification.
The content combines theoretical and practical moments.
In the first stage, students study the fundamentals of electricity, safety standards, reading and interpreting projects, and using personal and collective protective equipment.
In the practical phase, classes go to pole fields and simulated environments, where they practice assembling and maintaining networks, procedures for disconnecting and reconnecting, and typical routines for energy distribution services.
Employability and Impact for Women
One of the differentiators of the Electrician School is the direct link to the hiring needs of the group’s distributors.
Upon completing the course, graduates receive a professional certificate and are integrated into a talent pool used in future selection processes.
In various classes, the internal success rate exceeds half of the graduates, with many new electricians being hired by Neoenergia itself or by partner companies.
The program also plays a significant role in promoting gender equity.
In recent years, the company expanded the availability of exclusive or affirmative classes for women, which contributed to increasing female participation both in classrooms and in the workforce.
More than one thousand women have already graduated from the school, and many of them now work as electricians at Neoenergia Brasília, Neoenergia Coelba, Neoenergia Cosern, Neoenergia Elektro, and Neoenergia Pernambuco.
This design allows the course to serve as professional qualification and an instrument for productive inclusion, especially in regions where access to free technical training is limited and where female representation in industrial professions tends to be lower.
How to Register
Applications for the Electrician School are conducted exclusively online, on a specific page of Neoenergia dedicated to the program.
Interested individuals should access the company’s institutional website, find the section for the Electrician School, choose the desired city, and fill out the participation form within the specified deadline for each municipality, attaching personal and educational data, as well as information about the CNH when requested.
