Discover The Most Economical Flex Sedans Of 2025 According To Inmetro! From Toyota Corolla To BMW 320i, See Who Leads In Fuel Efficiency

Inmetro, a reference in quality and efficiency, released the updated list of the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV) featuring the most economical cars in Brazil for 2025. Despite SUVs dominating the streets, sedans still hold their place for those seeking style and economy. With the departure of models like Renault Logan and Toyota Yaris, only eight flex vehicles compete for the title of most efficient. The Toyota Corolla shines with its hybrid technology! Let’s find out which sedans will make your wallet smile.

Sedans Resist The SUV Wave With Style, Comfort And Fuel Efficiency

Even with the SUV craze, sedans remain the choice for those who value elegant design, comfort, and, of course, fuel economy. According to automotive market expert Ricardo Gondo, president of Fenabrave, “sedans still appeal for offering a balance between cost, performance, and efficiency, especially for those who drive a lot in the city” (Fenabrave, 2025). The Inmetro ranking proves this, bringing impressive consumption numbers for these cars.

Inmetro Tests Vehicle Efficiency And Guides Consumers With Energy Efficiency Label

In the PBEV, vehicles undergo rigorous tests under controlled conditions, evaluating energy consumption in megajoules per kilometer (MJ/km). The lower the number, the more efficient the car is. Additionally, the program measures consumption in km/l, both in the city and on the highway, using ethanol and gasoline. The classification ranges from “A” (the most economical) to “E” (the least economical). “Our goal is to provide transparency to consumers so they can make informed choices,” says Marcos Borges, Inmetro’s director of metrology (Inmetro, 2025).

Flex Sedans Surprise In Inmetro Evaluation

Inmetro evaluated 697 models and versions from 35 brands, but here we will focus on the eight flex sedans that stand out. Get ready for some surprising numbers!

The Future Of Sedans In Brazil

With the departure of models like Logan and Yaris, the flex sedan market has shrunk, but the quality of the remaining vehicles is undeniable. The Corolla’s hybrid technology, for example, shows how innovation can revolutionize fuel economy. For automotive consultant João Mendes, “the future of sedans in Brazil depends on brands that invest in efficiency and competitive pricing” (Quatro Rodas, 2025). In the meantime, Inmetro continues to be the trusted guide for those looking to choose the right car.
