UFRGS Offers Up to Eight Positions for EAD Tutors in the Geography Course. Scholarships of R$ 1,100, Flexibility, and Academic Training Are Attractive. Free Registrations Until December 9, 2024. A Selection Process for Those Looking to Work from Home and Contribute to Higher Education in Brazil.

In times of seeking flexibility in work and the opportunity to balance career and personal routine, a tempting proposal emerges on the horizon: a selection process capable of changing your relationship with the job market.

The opportunity to work as a tutor in a renowned federal institution, without the need for a public competition, is drawing attention throughout Brazil.

According to the Academic Center of the North Coast Campus (NACADCLN) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Notice No. 13/2024 has opened registrations for the simplified selection process for distance education tutors for the Bachelor’s Degree in Geography.

Opportunities are plentiful: up to eight positions are available, along with a reserve list.

According to the notice, 25% of the positions are reserved for candidates who self-declare as black, brown, indigenous, transgender, transsexual, or persons with disabilities (PWD), in compliance with Ordinance 309/2024 from Capes.

The Role of the Tutor and the Working Conditions

The tutor will perform essential functions for the success of the Bachelor’s Degree in Geography in the EAD modality.

Among the responsibilities, the mediation between teachers and students, monitoring student activities, supporting coordination, and addressing students’ demands in a virtual environment stand out.

The expected workload is 20 hours per week, with responses to student requests within 24 hours.

Additionally, the role requires participation in on-site activities at the centers, mainly for administering assessments, and in preparing monthly reports on student performance.

According to the notice, selected tutors will receive a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100.

The amount, though modest, offers stability for those seeking to supplement their income or wishing to enter distance higher education.

Who Can Participate?

The requirements to apply are well-defined: a bachelor’s degree in Geography or related fields recognized by the MEC is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in basic or higher education teaching.

Additionally, fluency in educational technologies, an updated resume, and internet access are essential.

Another important detail is that the candidate cannot be enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree in Geography at UFRGS.

According to the institution, this ensures impartiality in the tutoring process and avoids conflicts of interest.

How to Register?

Registrations are now open and must be made for free until December 9, 2024.

Interested parties should fill out the electronic form, attach the required documents, and ensure that all information complies with the notice.

The selection will be conducted in two stages: curricular analysis and technical interview.

In the first phase, experience and knowledge in distance education and digital technologies will be evaluated, along with skills such as professional posture and communication.

The second phase will be an interview conducted via web conference, limited to 12 candidates.

According to the schedule published in the notice, the results of each stage will be announced on the official UFRGS website, with deadlines for appeals in case of contestation.

What Makes This Opportunity So Special?

In addition to the remuneration and flexibility, the position offers the chance to integrate into one of the most respected universities in Brazil and contribute to the training of new professionals in Geography.

According to experts, initiatives like this expand access to higher education and strengthen the distance education model in the country.

For those seeking a way to start or solidify a career in higher education, the EAD tutor position can be the perfect starting point.

The opportunity to work from home, with flexible hours, is one of the biggest advantages highlighted by former tutors.

And Are You Ready to Take the Next Step?

The complete notice and the registration form are available on the official UFRGS website. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of an initiative that transforms lives and promotes educational inclusion.
