The selection, conducted by the Technology Center for Education (UEMAnet) of UEMA, is seeking 25 tutors with educational experience, who will have the mission of assisting in the development of students and thereby strengthening the inclusive education policy in the state.
This selection process represents an opportunity for those with experience in education looking to enter a role of impact and purpose.
Positions for All: Open Competition and Quotas
The selection process includes 15 positions for open competition and 10 positions reserved for candidates from specific groups, such as people with disabilities (PcD), black individuals, indigenous people, and transgender/travestis.
According to information released by UEMA, this division reinforces the university’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion also in the selection of its collaborators.
For interested candidates, the institution requires some fundamental prerequisites for the application to be accepted.
Among these, it is mandatory to have a higher education degree in a teaching program – whether in pedagogy, special education, or any related field of knowledge – in addition to postgraduate studies in inclusive education or special education.
Experience in basic education is considered essential, especially for those who have worked directly with students with disabilities.
Additionally, knowledge of distance education tools is fundamental, as the tutors’ work will be conducted entirely online.
Even though the work is remote, the candidate must reside in the state of Maranhão, as UEMA prioritizes local and regional development through the hiring of professionals from the state.
Compensation and Responsibilities
The amount offered as a scholarship is R$ 1,100.00 per month, and this payment is conditional on fulfilling the activities specified in the announcement.
It is important to highlight that the scholarship does not create an employment relationship with UEMA, and therefore is a financial aid for the services rendered as a tutor.
This means that payment is exclusive for hours worked in the role of E-Learning tutor, without other associated rights such as a Christmas bonus or vacation.
Among the tutor’s responsibilities is guiding students and monitoring progress in the improvement course disciplines.
These activities include supporting students in overcoming the challenges of distance education and integrating with the content offered by the university.
Selection Criteria and Stages
The selection process will be conducted in two distinct stages. In the first stage, candidates will have their academic qualifications assessed.
The teaching degree and postgraduate studies mentioned earlier will be mandatory items in this phase.
Next, those who meet the academic requirements will be evaluated based on their relevant professional experience for the position.
UEMA prioritizes candidates who already have practical experience in basic education, especially in contexts involving students with special needs, as this experience adds greater adaptability to the demands of inclusive education.
In addition to academic and professional qualifications, proficiency with digital platforms and distance teaching methodologies will be a differentiating factor for candidates.
UEMA expects that the selected candidates will be proactive, able to navigate the virtual environment and contribute to a complete learning experience for students.
Why Be an E-Learning Tutor?
UEMA sees the E-Learning tutor as a key player in the success of distance education, especially in courses that address inclusive education.
According to the Technology Center for Education at UEMA, the role of tutors goes beyond just guiding, as they are mediators between the content offered by the university and the doubts of students.
For tutors, this represents an opportunity to grow in their careers, gaining experience in active and inclusive methodologies that have been increasingly embraced by educational institutions.
How to Apply?
For those who want to participate in the selection process and take on this significant role, applications are open until November 14, 2024 and must be made exclusively online.
Interested parties need to access the UEMAnet website (application link) and submit the necessary documentation in PDF. Access the complete announcement for more details: link to the announcement.
