US Raises Tension With Russia After Former Russian President Suggests That American Ultimatums Bring The Two Countries Closer To Nuclear War
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, ordered on Friday (1st) the deployment of two American nuclear submarines to “appropriate areas”, in response to statements from former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. The measure was announced by Trump on his Truth Social network after the former Kremlin leader stated that the recent American ultimatums bring the two countries closer to total war.
The action comes amid escalating tensions over the conflict in Ukraine and after the US government threatened to impose severe tariffs on buyers of Russian oil. Russia, in turn, evoked the existence of the automated nuclear system “Dead Hand”, reigniting fears about the risk of direct confrontation between nuclear powers.

Trump’s order came after Medvedev — current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation — posted on X that the US ultimatums regarding the war in Ukraine were “a step towards war” with Washington. The former president also suggested that Trump should not forget that Moscow still possesses an automatic retaliation system that would survive even the collapse of the central government.

In his public response, Trump wrote:
“I ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in appropriate areas, in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that. Words are very important and can often lead to unintended consequences.”
What Is The “Dead Hand” System Cited By Russia?
The Dead Hand (known as Perimetr in Russia) is a Soviet system created in the 1980s to ensure nuclear retaliation even in the event of total destruction of the Russian military command. It can detect signs of nuclear attack and, if communication channels with the Kremlin are silent, automatically authorizes the launch of intercontinental missiles.
The mere public mention of the system is interpreted as a signal of escalation of the Russian strategic alert, although no visible military movement has been confirmed by international monitoring agencies.
What Is The Strategic Impact of The Deployment of The Submarines?
By ordering the repositioning of the submarines, Trump signals that the US is ready for nuclear retaliation in the event of a Russian escalation. Nuclear submarines are considered the safest and most hidden part of the American nuclear triad, capable of operating silently in any ocean for long periods and launching precision missiles from undetermined points.
The action also aims to contain possible Russian advances in coercive diplomacy and reaffirm the US commitment to European allies and NATO, especially in light of contradictory signals regarding a possible resumption of dialogue between Kiev and Moscow.
What Is Russia’s Position After The Incident?
In a more restrained tone, President Vladimir Putin stated on Friday that he desires a “lasting and stable peace” in Ukraine, but reaffirmed the non-negotiable conditions for a ceasefire: Russian control over the regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Crimea, as well as the exclusion of Ukraine from NATO and the suspension of Western arms shipments.
These conditions are unacceptable for Ukraine, which demands the complete withdrawal of Russian troops and multilateral security guarantees. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated his willingness to meet with Putin, but the Kremlin dismissed negotiations at this stage.

A responsabilidade disso é do próprio presidente da Ucrânia, ele quis entrar para a OTAN sabendo que a Rússia não permirtiria, e com a conivência do Biden que sabia que haveria uma guerra se isso acontecesse. Isso é muito comum quando tem democratas na presidência, destruição, inflação, ditaduras mundo a fora, ameaças terroristas, etc. Os EUA são responsáveis por isso, permirtiram que um louco iniciasse a guerra quando entrou para OTAN, sabendo que a Rússia avisou sobre a invasão. Nós no Brasil passamos por isso tbm, quando esse democratas financiaram campanhas de políticos da esquerda aqui no Brasil.
