UK Company Offers The Market A New Clean Energy Generation Equipment: A Compact And Portable Wind Turbine That Withstands Winds Of Up To 97 Km/h.
The Leading Edge Power, a company based in the UK, revealed its latest innovation in clean energy technology, with the arrival of its compact vertical-axis wind turbine, called Le-v50. These turbines provide a range of robust construction techniques and features, thus ensuring optimal performance and long life, even when installed in challenging environments.
Compact Wind Turbine Withstands Winds Of 97 Km/h
One of the unique features of the LE-v50 is its self-regulating capability, thereby reducing the need for an external charge controller. While a switch for turning it on and off can be installed, it is not a requirement, simplifying the maintenance and operation of the portable wind turbine.
The innovative and user-friendly design focuses on providing a better hassle-free experience, both for residential and commercial customers. The LE-v50 was developed to deliver optimal performance even in adverse wind conditions, making it an attractive option for various applications.

Its durability is further enhanced with the offering of the LE-v50 Extreme variant, specially developed to withstand extreme environments, where wind gusts can regularly reach 60 mph, equivalent to 97 km/h or where temperatures drop to -40ºC.
Developed with polycarbonate fairings, load distribution plates for the blades, and a top deflector plate, the portable Extreme wind turbine ensures resilience against severe weather conditions. Its black finish aids in solar heat absorption and reduces ice buildup on the blades.
Portable Wind Turbine Features 70W Power
The assembly of the wind turbine is versatile and convenient. The equipment is supplied as standard with side mounting brackets, enabling easy installation on the main mast side of a yacht. Alternatively, these brackets can be used with “U-bolts” to fix the wind turbine to the side of a 50mm diameter top, thus generating greater positioning flexibility.
The compact wind turbine is of the vertical-axis type and has an output power of 12W at 8 m/s. Its maximum power is 70W due to the rotor height of 456mm and rotor diameter of 270mm. With a Starting Wind Speed of 4 m/s, equivalent to 9 mph, the EPS Noise Rating is very low, just like the EPS Power Rating.
Portable Turbines Are Gaining Popularity In The Global Energy Market
The Californian company Jackery developed equipment that acts as a portable wind turbine, designed to convert external wind energy into electrical power anytime, anywhere.
The equipment boasts a power of 200 W and weighs less than 5 kg. The technology, named Jackery Air-W, serves as a continuous power supply for a variety of energy storage sources. The dual motor design maximizes all wind speeds to generate sufficient power, while the sturdy structure of the upper and lower blades allows height flexibility.
The tripod is built with foldable steps to create a more reinforced structure, enhancing the stability of the Jackery Air-W due to strong winds. To make the maintenance of the portable wind turbine easier, the IP67 material is dustproof and also waterproof, helping to contribute to the product’s portability.
