New LG StanbyME 2 Portable TV Features 27” Quad HD Display, Dolby Atmos Audio, and Rotating Base with Battery. Learn All About This Model with Premium Design and Artificial Intelligence.
LG has officially launched the StanbyME 2, the new generation of its bold portable TV, first introduced to the world at CES 2025. The model will start arriving in July in stores in countries like Canada, the USA, Vietnam, and Singapore, with a suggested retail price of 1,799 Singapore dollars (approximately R$ 7,800), promising an even more complete, connected, and intelligent viewing experience — all without sacrificing the mobility that made it famous.
The standout feature of the StanbyME 2 is its versatility. LG’s portable TV has greatly evolved from the previous generation and now combines a higher quality display, a rotating base, internal battery, new usage modes, and premium design focused on mobility. The target audience includes consumers who want to watch, work, play games, or make video calls in any room of their home, or even take it to events and trips.
Updated Look and More Versatility
The StanbyME 2 retains the original concept of a mobile TV with an adjustable base but improves practically everything in design and usability.

How the terraforming of Mars can transform the planet: artificial aerosols can increase the temperature by up to 35°C in 15 years, creating conditions for liquid water.

Scientists drilled nearly 8,000 meters into the ocean floor above the fault that caused the 2011 tsunami in Japan and discovered that a layer of clay 130 million years old was responsible for making the wave much worse than any model had predicted.
Instead of the old briefcase format with a retractable handle, the new model features a screen that can be detached from the wheeled base and placed on flat surfaces with a support cover, hung like a picture, carried on the shoulder with a transport strap, or even used as an interactive table.
This new design greatly expands usage possibilities: it’s possible to watch videos in bed, follow workouts on the balcony, hold online meetings in the kitchen, or display artistic content on the wall as if it were a digital painting. The rotating base also allows fine adjustments to the screen’s angle for better visual comfort.
27” Screen with Higher Resolution and Advanced HDR
One of the most praised aspects of the original StanbyME was its 27-inch touchscreen. The StanbyME 2 retains this size but raises the quality standard to Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440), providing sharper and more detailed images. The refresh rate remains at 60 Hz, ideal for videos, streaming, and video conferencing.
Another highlight is support for multiple HDR (High Dynamic Range) standards: HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG. This means more vibrant colors, deeper blacks, and elevated contrast, even in bright environments.
Embedded Artificial Intelligence with Alpha 8 Chip
LG has equipped the StanbyME 2 with the Alpha 8 AI Processor, the same chip used in high-end TV models like the LG OLED B4 and QNED 2024. Thanks to this, the TV gains advanced image and sound features powered by artificial intelligence, such as:
- AI Picture Pro: automatically adjusts brightness, contrast, and colors based on the type of content.
- AI Brightness Control: adapts the screen to the ambient light in real-time.
- Voice Commands with quick response.
This processor also ensures greater fluidity in the webOS 24 operating system, which will have five major updates promised by the brand — a rarity in the TV segment.
Immersive Audio with Dolby Atmos and AI Sound Pro
The audio experience of the StanbyME 2 has also been enhanced. Even with just two side speakers, the TV simulates immersive 9.1.2 channel sound through AI Sound Pro technology, elevating the sense of depth in movies, music, and video calls.
Additionally, compatibility with Dolby Atmos creates a three-dimensional sound environment. The WOW Orchestra function allows the TV audio to be synchronized with LG soundbars, making the experience even more robust.
More Connectivity: HDMI, USB-C, and AirPlay Support
One of the biggest advancements of the new LG Portable TV lies in connectivity. The StanbyME 2 now features:
- Bluetooth 5.1
- Wi-Fi 5
- HDMI 1.4 with eARC support
- Three USB-A ports
- At least one USB-C port
These ports facilitate connection with USB drives, cameras, keyboards, controllers, external hard drives, and even smartphones, ensuring more possibilities for entertainment or productivity. The TV is also compatible with Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2, and Apple Home, allowing for quick and wireless content mirroring.
Real Portability: Up to 4 Hours Battery Life and Magnetic Remote Control
What makes the StanbyME 2 truly portable is its built-in battery, offering up to 4 hours of continuous use — ideal for movie sessions, quick meetings, or video calls. To extend battery life, the screen features an intelligent power-saving mode that is activated automatically when there is no direct interaction.
Another handy detail is the magnetic remote control, which can be attached to the side of the TV itself, preventing it from getting lost during transport.
The TV also supports LG’s Smart Cam, used for video calls, workout monitoring, and even interactive classes with motion tracking. This expands the TV’s use for professional, educational, and wellness purposes.
With webOS 24, access to streaming apps, browsers, productivity tools, and social networks is faster and more integrated.
