The slots are divided between two enrollment modalities. The first, aimed at the general public, covers 80% of the slots and takes into account candidates’ performance in Portuguese and Mathematics, based on their high school academic records. The second modality, reserved for teachers currently working in the public network, corresponds to 20% of the slots. These teachers must prove their ties to the education network and be registered on the Freire Platform.
This division of slots is designed to meet the needs of both future teachers and those who are already in the profession but do not yet have a higher education degree in their area of expertise. The goal is to ensure solid qualification and prepare these professionals for the daily challenges in classrooms.

How the Selection Process Works
The selection process for the free distance courses at UFJF takes place in two modalities. For the general public, the selection will be based on high school academic performance, analyzing grades in Portuguese and Mathematics. For public school teachers, in addition to the academic record, it is necessary to prove ties to the network and be registered on the Freire Platform.
If the number of candidates exceeds the number of slots, a lottery for the teachers will consider their years of service. In case of a persistent tie, the candidate’s age will be used as a second criterion, favoring older candidates.
It is important to remember that the courses are completely free, and approved candidates will incur no costs for tuition or educational materials, a valuable opportunity for those seeking qualification without straining their budget.
Where to Enroll
Enrollment for the free distance courses at UFJF is open from October 7 to 30 and must be done exclusively online, on the Copese website (General Coordinator of Selection Processes) of UFJF. Candidates must fill out the online form, generate the Union Collection Guide (GRU), and pay a fee of R$150.00 by October 30 at Banco do Brasil.
Candidates wishing to request a fee waiver may do so between October 7 and 11. The list of approved candidates for those authorized will be published on October 21, also on the Copese website.
After enrollment, the definitive confirmation will be available for consultation from November 5. Candidates should follow all information and deadlines on the Copese website to ensure participation in the selection process.
