UFMA Opens 478 Spots in Free Online Courses in Distance Learning Format

UFMA Has Hundreds of Slots in Free Online and Distance Learning Courses in Biological Sciences, Physics Teaching, Visual Arts, Chemistry, Among Others. Registrations Close on February 27.

The entrance exam for free online and distance learning courses at the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) is open for registrations. In total, there are 478 opportunities for enrollment in the first semester of this year in distance learning undergraduate programs in Biology Teaching, Physics Teaching, Chemistry Teaching, Visual Arts Teaching, Language or Sign Language Teaching, and Physical Education Teaching.

Registrations Can Be Made Until February 27

The slots in the free online and distance learning courses at UFMA are distributed across the categories of open competition, people with disabilities, self-declared black individuals, public school graduates, mixed-race individuals, and indigenous people.

Those interested in the free online and distance learning courses must access the Enrollment System of the Directorate of Educational Technologies (DTED) of UFMA by February 27 and fill out the enrollment form. Additionally, it will be necessary to submit proof of high school completion and proof of residence in the municipality of the desired campus or within the radius.

It is important to note that there will be no participation fee. This documentation will be reviewed, and the results will be announced on the 27th of the same month. Those who do not agree can file an appeal between February 28 and March 1.

Consultation of the final result can be done on March 7. Those competing under affirmative policies must also attach supporting documents such as a medical report, racial self-declaration, proof of income, and a declaration of belonging to the indigenous community. Selection Process Steps for Free Online and Distance Learning Courses Offered by UFMA

The analysis of the documents submitted in the application will be the selection process for the free online courses, as the total of academic history points will be counted within a scale of 0 to 10, totaling 50 points. See below the list of subjects:

  • Average Portuguese Language: 10 points;
  • Average Physics: 10 points;
  • Average Chemistry: 10 points;
  • Average Mathematics: 10 points;
  • Average Biology: 10 points.

In the event of a tie in the final classification, preference is given to the candidate who is older, has a higher average in Portuguese Language, and has a higher average in Mathematics. The entrance exam for free online and distance learning courses at UFMA will also include a phenotypic evaluation, only for self-declared black, mixed-race, and indigenous candidates. This assessment will be conducted online on March 31.

Learn How to Enroll in Free Online and Distance Learning Courses

The first list of invited candidates for enrollment was published on March 9. Those who are on this list must submit their documentation to the pre-enrollment page from March 13 to 17.

Among the required items are 1 recent 3×4 color photo, RG and CPF, Voter Registration Card and proof of electoral discharge for those over 18 and under 70 years old, proof of military service discharge for those over 18 and under 45 years old, high school completion certificate, high school transcript, and updated proof of residence, issued within a maximum of 3 months, in the name of the candidate or a family member.

If the slots in the free online courses at UFMA are not filled, there will be a second call. This invitation will follow the order of classification, and the candidates must also present the previously mentioned documentation.

Those who are classified must be available for in-person meetings at the UFMA campuses in Açailândia, Centro Novo, Imperatriz, Carolina, Codó, Nina Rodrigues, Fortaleza das Nogueiras, Paraibano, São João dos Patos, Coelho Neto, Vitorino Freire, Arari, Santo Antônio dos Lopes, Anapurus, Caxias, and Santa Inês.
