UFMS opened, this week, 434 positions in in-person and online courses, offering new opportunities for students, refugees, foreigners, and graduates seeking to continue in higher education.
The positions are distributed across the campuses of Campo Grande, Naviraí, Aquidauana, Coxim, and Três Lagoas, and the applications, which are open until January 5, 2026, are completely free and conducted online.
The initiative arises because the university identified available positions and therefore decided to reorganize classes and expand access to education.

According to the institution, interested candidates can compete for 25 in-person courses, including areas such as Physical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, and Information Systems. How the Selection Process Works for UFMS In-Person and Online Courses

Therefore, the university prioritizes those who are already enrolled in another institution and wish to transfer to the same course. Next, UFMS evaluates students interested in switching to courses of the same field, similar modalities, or related areas.
According to Dionísio Leite Filho, director of Planning and Academic Management, “the positions are defined based on the analysis of the number of active students in each course”. In this way, the institution ensures that each class maintains balance and academic continuity.
Additionally, if there are still available positions after the two initial stages, they will be allocated to refugees and foreigners with humanitarian or family reunion visas. If opportunities persist, the final phase will consider degree holders interested in obtaining a new qualification.

- January 12: publication of the preliminary result.
- Up to three days later: deadline for submitting appeals.
- January 16: publication of the final result and release of the call for registration.
