UFPE Opens Over 500 Spots in Free Online and Distance Learning Courses

UFPE Has Hundreds of Openings in Free Online and Distance Learning Courses for Residents of 15 Municipalities in the State. Those Who Complete the Courses Will Receive Certificates.

The Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), through the Coordination of the Open University of Brazil (UAB), announced the opening of more than 500 openings in free online courses. The selection process has 540 vacancies for postgraduate lato sensu specialization courses in distance learning (EAD), for enrollment in the first semester of this year. Registration will start on February 1st, and can be done until February 22nd.

Free Online and Distance Learning Courses Offered by UFPE

The 540 openings available at UFPE are for the courses in Teaching of Spanish Language and Literature, Innovation and Educational Trends, and Teaching of Science and Mathematics, focusing on training teachers in basic education from the public state and municipal school systems who are in effective positions or managing other institutions, and offered at 15 support centers distributed across the state of Pernambuco. Innovation and Educational Trends

This course aims to present current trends, practices, and modalities in educational management, the transformations occurring in governance and administration of educational systems, and to introduce innovations for the educational market.

Teaching of Spanish Language and Literature

This course aims to encourage students to reflect on the potential of information and communication technologies (ICT) for the teaching and learning of foreign languages and on the potential of theoretical-methodological practices guided by the AICLE perspective.

To this end, it will offer a theoretical/practical view of the applications of ICT resources in the teaching of foreign languages.

Teaching of Science and Mathematics

This course aims to promote and encourage in-service teachers in the fields of Science and Mathematics to develop a professional culture guided by autonomy, the structuring and development of flexible curricula, research in the classroom, reflection on students’ learning, development of methodologies and methodological strategies suitable for teaching Science and Mathematics, development of a formative evaluation process, and advancement of actions that characterize their intervention in the school and their teaching work as an autonomous teacher and researcher of their practice.

To register, it is necessary to fill out a virtual form with a resume, basic data, desired course, support center, as well as including a letter of intent and motivation, proof of activities from the last 5 years, among others.

The courses are expected to have in-person activities, which will be conducted in accordance with Decree No. 9.057/2017.

The expectation is that the activities will take place in a connected in-person format, which occurs through information and communication technologies, enabling synchronous moments that, according to demand and planning, will be scheduled by the coordination of each course.
