The Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) announces the selection process for the Specialization Course in Rural Education – Emphasis on Pedagogical Practices, according to Public Notice No. 091/2024-PROPESP/UFAM. There are 80 spots available, equally divided between the municipalities of Boa Vista do Ramos and Careiro Castanho. The course is free and in-person, and is a unique opportunity for professionals specialized in training and development in the area of multigrade education in rural settings.
With a duration of 15 months, the course aims to enhance pedagogical practices in multigrade education in rural areas. It will be scheduled in-person, with monthly meetings in the two designated municipalities. The program includes theoretical classes, forums, seminars, and assessments, totaling a workload of 360 hours.

Selection Process
The selection will consist of three stages:
- Validation of Applications: analysis of the submitted documentation.
- Memorial Analysis: evaluation that can total up to 100 points, considering experience in the area, academic production, and professional performance.
- Submission of Supporting Documentation: only for candidates called in the previous stage.
Tie-breaking criteria include the highest score in the memorial, older age, and length of service in Rural Education.
The focus is on developing innovative pedagogical practices for teachers working in multigrade schools in rural areas, aligned with the objectives of the School of the Earth Program.
Application Requirements
Teachers working in Rural Education or in the School of the Earth Program, linked to the Municipal Department of Education of Boa Vista do Ramos or Careiro Castanho, may participate in the selection process. It is necessary to have a training course in the area and not be enrolled in another lato sensu or stricto sensu graduate course at a public institution.
