Registrations for the free online (EAD) course in special education from an inclusive perspective are open until January 30, 2025 for the free course. The initiative is a result of a partnership between the Ministry of Education (MEC), the Federal University of Western Pará (Ufopa), Capes, and the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). The course aims to train primary education teachers to adopt pedagogical practices that promote inclusion in the classroom.
Training in Inclusive Practices: A Transformational Goal
Focusing on the continued education of educators, the free online (EAD) course aligns with the Living Without Limits plan (2023) and the guidelines of the Brazilian Inclusion Law (2015). The MEC’s proposal is to enhance teachers’ skills, ensuring they are prepared to address diversity and promote accessible education for all students.
Structure of the Free Course and Topics Covered
The free course, entirely online (EAD), has a workload of 120 hours and will be conducted over three months, starting in March 2025. It is structured around four thematic axes that cover:

MEC calls for a 100% online and free course in Neuroeducation with 2,461 limited spots, a workload of 200 hours, and a certificate at no cost.

Fiocruz releases a free, 100% online course with a certificate and opens 20,000 spots for a 45-hour training on gambling, with no prerequisites required and registrations open until May 2026 for all of Brazil.

USP opens 10,000 spots in a free 100% online course lasting 110 hours in areas such as nutrition and health, with registrations until April 15 and classes on diabetes, obesity, and educational public policies.
