KU Leuven Announces Opening of Scholarships for Brazilian Students Dreaming of Studying in Belgium. Scholarships Can Cover Up to €10,000 Depending on the Project.

The KU Leuven, also known as KU Leuven, has announced the opening of applications for its scholarship program called Science@Leuven Scholarships. The program aims to offer full scholarships for graduate students from Brazil who dream of studying in Belgium.

Master’s in Biophysics, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology

The Master’s in Biophysics, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology is an international and interdisciplinary study program focusing on phenomena related to the integration and communication between living cells and their molecular constituents, utilizing research methods used in molecular and cellular biology.

Master’s in Biology

A specialized yet flexible program covering aspects of molecular and cellular biology, evolutionary, functional, and ecology. It emphasizes problem-solving, independent thinking, and communication. Master’s in Mathematics

As a master’s, the student will be not only a well-rounded mathematician but also a specialist in pure or applied mathematics.

Applications Can Be Made Until February

Applications can be made until February 15, and the list of eligible courses for the scholarships can be viewed on the program’s website. The scholarships cover all tuition and guidance costs for the chosen program and also provide an additional amount for candidates to cover their living expenses in Belgium. This amount may vary according to student needs and the strength of their project but can reach up to €10,000.

Initially, the scholarship is valid for the first year of the programs, which last two years. However, it can be renewed if the candidate maintains good academic performance and meets other requirements listed on the page. To apply for the scholarships, candidates must submit their application for the desired program through the KU Leuven online portal.

Each program has specific requirements; however, in general, they request a bachelor’s degree and academic transcripts during the application. It is also necessary to demonstrate English proficiency through TOEFL or IELTS certificates according to the minimum scores listed on this page.

How to Apply for Scholarships in Belgium

The scholarships from KU Leuven require two letters of recommendation and a motivation letter explaining why the candidate wishes to apply for the graduate scholarships.

Once the application is completed with these documents, the student will be taken to a completion page. It is necessary to take a screenshot of this page, as it will be used in the scholarship application.

After completing these steps, the student can apply for the scholarships. All these procedures must be completed by February 15, according to the university schedule, with the announcement of selected students for the scholarships taking place in May of the following year.
