Want To Learn How To Preserve The History Under Our Feet? Then Check It Out: The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) Is Now Accepting Applications For A Free Specialization That Promises To Be Incredible!

Applications are now open for the selection process that will fill 20 openings in the free specialization at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), in Minas Gerais. The program focuses on Preservation and Dissemination of Open-Air Archaeological Structures and Sites, and the course is in partnership with Vale SA, a giant that needs no introduction. But that’s not all: in addition to the 20 spots open to the public, Vale will also recommend 15 more students, totaling a group of 35 individuals ready to start this journey on October 14, 2024.

Courses Tailored for History and Technology Enthusiasts

The course will have a heavy workload, with 780 hours, and you will need to work hard, especially when it comes to preparing the final project, which will consume 120 of those hours. The rest of the time will be distributed among various subjects, covering everything from The History of Minas Gerais to super modern techniques in Geoprocessing and Surface Geochemistry. And if you think everything will be online, you’re mistaken: the mandatory practical activities will take place once a month, ensuring that everyone gets hands-on experience, or rather, gets their hands dirty!

Who Can Enroll in This Free Specialization at the Federal University?

Thinking about signing up? Then pay attention: the specialization is open to graduates or postgraduates in fields such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Architecture, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, among others related to the environment and cultural heritage. The important thing is to have a degree in courses recognized by the MEC.

Now, you can’t mess around: applications will be accepted until September 16, 2024. To participate, just access the form at the link https://forms.gle/k6Q8UgbYbDnjigqYA, fill everything out correctly, and send the requested documents to the email pós.arqueologia@ufv.br.
