The distance learning (EAD) has been gaining more and more space in Brazil, providing access to academic and professional training for thousands of people in different regions of the country.
Attentive to this growing demand, the Federal University of Roraima (UFRR) and the University of Brasília (UnB) announced selection processes for filling 140 positions aimed at tutors in extension courses in the EAD modality.
The opportunities are part of programs aimed at promoting inclusive education and valuing ethnic-racial relations in the academic environment.

UFRR Offers Opportunities for Tutors in Course on Ethnic-Racial Relations
UFRR, through its Distance Education Center (NEaD) and in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB), published the Edital No. 01/2025, which regulates the selection of tutors for the extension course “Training for Teaching and Management for Education of Ethnic-Racial and Quilombola Relations”.
The course has a workload of 120 hours and will be offered entirely in the distance modality, allowing tutors to carry out pedagogical monitoring activities and content mediation remotely.
The objective is to train teachers and school managers to deal with ethnic-racial diversity in the educational environment and implement more inclusive pedagogical practices.
Positions and Benefits
- Available positions: Reserve list with up to 40 positions.
- Scholarship amount: R$ 1,100 per month, paid by CAPES.
- Workload: Up to 20 hours per week.
- Main activities: Monitoring students in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), mediating discussions, clarifying doubts, participating in pedagogical meetings, and preparing reports.
Requirements for Participation
To apply, it is necessary to meet the following criteria:
- Have a higher education diploma recognized by MEC.
- Have experience in Basic Education or in EAD courses (desirable).
- Demonstrate skill in using digital platforms and online educational tools.
- Have availability to monitor students in synchronous and asynchronous formats, according to the course schedule.
UnB Opens 100 Positions for Tutors in Inclusive Education Course
The University of Brasília (UnB) is also accepting applications for EAD tutors.
The institution launched the Edital No. 007/CEAD/UAB/2025, which foresees the selection of 100 tutors to act in the Extension Course in Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education.
This course aims to train teachers and other education professionals to work with students who have special educational needs, promoting inclusion in the school environment.
The initiative aligns with educational policies that seek to ensure a more accessible and equitable school for all.
Positions and Benefits
- Available positions: 100 (with 75 for general competition and 25 for affirmative actions).
- Monthly scholarship: R$ 1,100, according to CAPES regulations.
- Workload: 20 hours per week.
- Main responsibilities: Pedagogical mediation in the AVA, student support, participation in training sessions, planning activities, and preparing performance reports.
Requirements for Participation
To compete for the positions, candidates must meet the following prerequisites:
- Have a higher education degree recognized by MEC in Pedagogy, Special Education, or teaching degree in any area.
- Have an updated Lattes curriculum.
- Demonstrate experience with Inclusive Education (desirable).
- Present availability of 20 hours per week to carry out the required activities.
- Not receive scholarships from other programs (except in cases permitted by CAPES).
Desirable Criteria
- Post-graduation in Special Education or Inclusive Education.
- Previous experience in tutoring EAD courses.
- Knowledge of educational tools and active methodologies for remote teaching.
