For those who are still not convinced to participate in the IBGE public competition, we have brought some reasons that may change their minds. The pandemic brought several hard lessons. One of them, which impacted a large part of Brazilians, was realizing how unstable their jobs in the private sector really were. Thus, being approved in a public competition, the candidate can count on financial stability. After years of work, a public servant can only be dismissed for serious causes.

The average salary of a public servant can be higher than that of private sector workers, and according to World Bank data, the public sector pays, on average, salaries 70% higher than those paid by the formal private sector.

In a way, public competitions allow candidates to have equal hiring opportunities, as exams are conducted by an organizing board that will assess candidates impartially, taking into account their knowledge and professional preparation.

The public competition is also a gateway to the job market, even for those without experience. As long as they meet the basic and specific requirements for the position, entry through a public competition is guaranteed to any Brazilian citizen who is approved in the stages and classified within the vacancies.
