The “EDP Trainee Program” is an annual program that fosters a deep knowledge of the EDP Group and provides a set of diverse experiences. This year, considering the current situation, the program is prepared to welcome all young people with a 100% remote onboarding. Then, the 2 job rotations proposed by the program can take place in a face-to-face, hybrid, or remote model, depending on the prevailing model at that time and the evolution of the pandemic in each geography. Regardless of the model used, the possibility of international experiences remains, in line with previous editions,” says an official source.
The trainee program is paid, although the company has not disclosed the amount. “Our Trainee Program is compensated according to the best practices in the markets where we operate, and compensates all young people for their knowledge, skills, performance, and energy.”

Know The Process And Requirements To Participate In The EDP Trainee Program 2021
- Proficiency in English
- Master’s degree completed within the last two years or about to finish
With a duration of 7 months, the trainee program challenges candidates “to actively contribute to innovative solutions that address the current challenges of the energy sector, such as digitalization and decarbonization,” says the company. “In return, these young people will have the opportunity to accelerate their personal and professional development.”
All stages of the recruitment process will be conducted digitally, being adaptable to the different needs of the candidates,” describes EDP.
Upon completion of the selection process, interns have a “one-month onboarding, and two rotations totaling six months in different business areas, geographies, or companies within the EDP group,” explains the company.
“In September 2021, the time will come for trainees to join the company in Portugal or in one of the other 18 countries where EDP operates.” A distinct model in light of the current pandemic situation.
